Admission Procedures

In the admission procedure, allotment of seats and fees structure for all the seats, our College strictly adheres the order of the Government of Karnataka amended from time to time and prevalent at the date of admission . As per the order of the Government of Karnataka, the allotment and distribution of the seats are as follows:

45% of the seats are filled by the Government of Karnataka through Common Entrance Test (CET).
30% of the seats are filled through entrance test conducted by the Comed-K.
25% of the seats are filled by Management.

The Department of Training & Placement is functioning since two decades. Scholarship

• The college is supporting the students to get the scholarship from different organization. It helps poor students, economically backward and meritorious students.
  Various scholarships avenues are available in the college, offered by various Govt. bodies & private organizations. The announcement of these will be made in advance in the notice boards. It is solely responsibility of the students to seek the applications and apply. College will not be responsible for the delay in submission of application.For students who are applying for scholarship it is mandatory to have Bank account.Scholarship applications will be acceptable only with the submission of current year income certificate
  
• The candidates with “ZERO” fees and concessional fees whose scholarship is provided by the Govt., should apply in time and seek claim for it , failing which fees has to be paid by the candidates.
  
• On receipt of scholarship, (who are admitted under “ZERO” fees and concessional fees) students are directed to submit the copy of the updated bank pass book for succeeding renewal of scholarship and issue a cheque or DD within one week which is due for the college.
  
• A copy of the online scholarship application along with the relevant documents should be compulsorily submitted to the scholarship section. The supporting documents should be signed by the concerned HOD’s and the application should be signed by the Principal for further processing.
  
• The scholarship applications should be submitted to the scholarship section of the college with relevant documents on the dates which are mentioned by the college for further processing and not by the date mentioned by the department.

The Library of DBIT is the hub of information resources. We procure the resources in electronic form, in addition to the conventional print form for fulfilling all the information needs of the user community. We offer an enormous wealth of information both on and off-campus by way of subscription to the e-resources of VTU Consortium. The library has more than 70,000+ volumes of books and subscriptions to important printed periodicals, magazines, newspapers, and many e-resources and technology tools facilitate the academic and research activities of all stakeholders. National and International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, and also Information Literacy Programmes are organized to create awareness among students about competitive examinations in the public and private sectors.

The Clean and Green Campus of DBIT, spread over an area of more than 30 acres, is strategically located off a Six-Lane National Highway, but free of pollution due to the sufficient spacing and advantageous orientation. It is fully Wi-Fi enabled with a Captive power back-up. Banking Facility/ATM Counters, Online Tuition Fee/Exam Fee Payment Facility, Free Yoga Classes, Organized Outings for Students and Hostelites are the other features. The various facilities are:

A well-equipped Health Centre/Dispensary/Pharmacy is available for medical care on the campus. A medical professional and a paramedical staff are available during normal working hours with arrangements for immediate response 24x7. Tie-ups for Ambulance Service-on Demand are in place. In case of any emergency, the affected person/s are shifted to the neighbouring Speciality Hospitals/Medical Centres – with which a cordial relationship exists - for further treatment.

Adequate RO Water dispensing units, Hot Water facility, Reading room, Round the clock Water/Electricity with Stand-by Generator are in place.
Regular Health Checkups for resident students and hostel staff are arranged. Medical aid is made available 24x7 at the DBIT Health Centre. A Sick Room, each in the Girls Hostel and Boys Hostel, is provided for any emergency.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports, established in 2001, is a cell of major activity on the Campus. The Department has secured the Envious Distinction of a place in the Top 10 Positions in Sports and Games among all Engineering Colleges affiliated to VTU during the Years 2011-12 and 2016-17.
