Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is a self – financing private educational institution situated in Pollachi, Coimbatore District. This college is the vision of Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam (a name that is synonumous with Pollachi), whose determination and dynamism made possible the realization of this Institution of Excellence. MCET was established in 1998 to commemorate the 75th Birthday of this great visionary Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam.

MCET is located in a campus spread over 29 acres at Udumalai Road, Annamalai Nagar, Makkinaickenpatti (POST), Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. It is about 54 km away from the Coimbatore International Airport and about 4 km away from the Pollachi Junction and T.N.S.T.C Depot. It is well connected with all the neighbouring cities and towns and is easily reachable.

Arutchelvar Vidya Sakthi (AVS) Scholarship

Arutchelvar Vidya Sakthi Scholarship was launched on 7th February 2016 and its award function was celebrated on 28 March 2016. This auspicious occasion was celebrated in the college premises as a tribute to the great benefactor Arutchelvar in connection with his 93rd birthday celebration. This award seeks to promote, recognize and reward outstanding students for their endless amounts of talent.

The scholarship covers upto 100% of the student's college fees, bus fees, and hostel fees, depending on their academic performance. The specific marks requirement varies depending on the student's chosen course of study. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the student's four-year engineering program at MCET.
