Dr Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering - DSACE is a Private, Self Financing, Non-Minority, Co-Education College established in 1995 by the Aditanar Educational Institution Trust. The principal objective to establish the College was of bringing quality education within the reach of the weaker sections, particularly in rural areas. The college has been established with the aim of imparting professional & technical education with emphasis on building analytical and reasoning abilities as well as practical skills. Padmashri Dr Sivanthi Adityan is the Founder Chairman of Aditanar Educational Institution and Shri S Balasubramanian Adityan is the Chairman.

DSACE is located at Tirunelveli Road, Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi Dist on a big 86 Acres beautiful campus with lush green landscaped lawns and open area . The Campus is dotted with Palm and Coconut Trees giving it a serene and pristine look. Tiruchendur Railway Station is 3.7 Kms away from the College and Tuticorin Airport is 38 Kms away.
DSACE is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited the CSE Academic programme of the College. The College is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The College has been recognized as one of the best engineering colleges at the national level with a rank of 327 out of 5672. The institution is recognized as an in-house R&D Centre by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, Government of India. Admission Procedure

Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering (SACOE) offers a four-year B.E and B.Tech program in 6 disciplines. Admissions are based on TNEA counselling procedure. Candidates must have scored 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. The candidates belonging to backward communities are eligible for relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.

Scholarship

1 Adi-Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Scholarship – State

Government Scholarship

This scholarship is sanctioned by the State Government. For SC/ST Hindu students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,50,000/- are eligible for this scholarship. For SCC (SC converted Christian) students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,00,000/- are eligible for this scholarship. The Students are eligible to get Free Education. Students who are not in receipt of the Central Government Scholarship are entitled to get the State Government Scholarship.

1 (a) Higher Education Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable for SC/ST Hindu Hostel students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,50,000/- and for SCC (SC converted Christian) Hostel students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,00,000/-.

2 Department of Backward Classes Welfare Scholarship –

State Government Scholarship is awarded to BC/MBC/DNC students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,00,000.

2 (a) First Graduate State Government Scholarship

The students, if he/she is a first graduate from the family, he/she is entitled to receive this scholarship without any other restrictions.

3 Farmer’s Scholarship

Scholarship under this scheme is awarded to the wards of farmers sanctioned under Farmer Social Security Scheme. The details, of the scholarship amounts, are given below:

4 Minority cum Merit Scholarship

This Scholarship is awarded to Christian or Muslim students whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs.2,50,000. Only 2 members in a family can receive this scholarship. A minimum of fifty percent marks with no arrears is must to obtain this scholarship.

5 State Loan

State Loan is given to SC/ST students irrespective of parents’ annual income, which is to be repaid after the employment of the concerned students. Special Scholarship for Higher Education is given to SC/ST students who stay in hostel and whose parents’ annual income is below Rs.1,00,000/-.

6 Chief Minister’s Award

SC/ST students who have secured meritorious marks in +2 examinations at the state level are eligible for the Chief Minister’s Award. Under this scheme, the eligible students will receive a grant of Rs.1500/- per year till the completion of their college studies.

7 Bank Loan Facility

Students who want to avail this loan facility are required to get the prior approval of the Bank Manager. A certificate of approximate expenditure details for the entire course of study will be issued by the Principal on request. The bank will thereafter sanction the loan. The decision of the bank is final in this regard.

8 Chief Minister Fund

An amount of Rs.5,000/- per year is granted to all the students of Arunthathiar Community under this scheme.

9 Central sector Scheme of Scholarship

All the students whose parents’ income is below Rs.4,50,000/- are eligible to receive this scholarship provided the mark criteria given by the Scheme is met. An amount of Rs.1,000/- per month is granted during the first 3 years of the course and Rs.2,000/- per month during the Final year of the course of study.

10 Tamil Nadu Trust Scholarship

This scholarship is granted to students with a minimum of sixty percent marks and whose parents’ income is below Rs.50,000/-. Under this scheme Rs.5,000/- is granted for U.G. students and 4,500/- for P.G. students.

11 Beedi & Limestone Workers Scholarship

This Scholarship is granted only to the children of Beedi & Limestone Workers. The total family income should not exceed Rs.10,000 /-per month and the student is not in receipt of any other scholarship. The eligible students receive a grant of Rs.8,000/-per year.

The Library is located in the Administrative block of the college with two floors. The ground floor contains the lending section and e-journal section and the reference section and journal section are in the First floor. It is well equipped with 41,332 Books, 1556 E-Journals and 86 national journals and 3 News Papers Available. In E-journal section pressreader subscription available for students. For effective Teaching learning process the library is maintaining a special section which is incorporated with Educational CD’s and DVD’s in the fields of Engineering, Management and Science and Humanities.A world-class cafeteria with ultra-modern ambience, having modern working ranges/equipments, to serve a total strength of 200 students at a time. It also has an exclusive mezzanine floor to host dinners/get-togethers etc.The Language Lab is an audio visual installation used as an aid in English language teaching with special focus on communication competence and development of soft skills. It is teacher controlled system connected to a number of student consoles, each having a headset with microphone.

Hostel’s Rules and Regulation :

• Perfect silence must be maintained in the corridors, bathrooms, toilets, common room, T.V. hall,etc.,
  
• Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, dinner will be served only during the scheduled time.
  
• Parties, birthday celebrations etc., within the Hostel are prohibited.
  
• The Hostel inmates must conduct themselves in a disciplined manner with the employees and other inmates of the Hostel.
  
• Attendance will be taken every day and abstention without permission will be viewed seriously.
  
• Loud music, smoking, gambling, playing cards, shouting and consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited within and in the vicinity of the Hostels.

• Ragging is a serious offense and is strictly banned.
  
• The inmates shall not cause any kind of disturbance to others.
  
• The inmates are advised not to waste food etc., served in their own interest.

Transport

The college has a fleet of 18 buses to transport students and staff from various parts of the city and its neighbourhood areas to the college and back home. Transport facility is arranged to every student. Every student is expected to avail the transport facility to enable him/her to be punctual to the college.
