Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology (Formerly Known as Golden Valley Institute of Technology - GVIT) was started in the year 1986 at Kolar Gold Fields by the founder President, Dr. T. Thimmaiah, Ph.D (London), IAS (Retired), under the aegis of Golden Valley Educational Trust, with the sole purpose of imparting quality technical education.  

 
The Dr.TTIT campus located in Dr. T. Thimmaiah Road, Oorgaum, Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, boasts a campus that spans approximately 25 acres of land. This lush and green wooded expanse which is situated away from the hub of Metropolis, provides an ideal environment for learning and growth.

 
Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology, an ISO 21001:2018 Certified Institute, is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.   The Institute has been Accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ Grade. Three of its courses have received accreditation from the prestigious National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for an impressive duration of 3 years.

 
The Institute offers undergraduate courses in full time mode in Engineering.  The Dr. TTIT, Kolar UG courses include BE Computer Science and Engineering, BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BE Mechanical Engineering, BE Civil Engineering, BE Mining Engineering.  Students are admitted on merit, according to the directives of the Government of Karnataka, both to the Government Quota and the Management Quota. Admission Procedure for the Government Seats is strictly as per KEA norms.

Among future plans, Dr. TTIT will host the Asian Conference on Intelligent Technologies (ACOIT), sponsored by IEEE, on September 6th and 7th, 2024. This event, organized in technical collaboration with Agasthiar Research and Technologies, Chennai, aims to address advancements in fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

I - Admission to Under Graduate Courses (B.E) – First Year

KEA Eligibility Criteria (Government Seats):
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Standard / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
Documents to be produced:

SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card,

2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate,

Candidate’s Study Certificate from1st to 12th Standards

If claiming Rural quota: - Rural Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std, for Ten Complete Years.

If claiming Kannada Medium quota: Kannada Medium Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std, for Ten Complete Years.

If claiming reservation benefits: Caste / Caste Income Certificate issued by Concerned tahsildar- For SC / ST in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F.

Management Quota Seats:

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Candidates from Overall India having the above Academic Criteria are eligible to join to 1st Year BE under Management Quota Seats Directly in the college. No need to take-up any Entrance Examinations for Admission.

II - Admission to Under Graduate Courses (B.E) - (IInd year -Diploma Lateral Entry)

KEA Eligibility Criteria (Government Seats):
A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
To get the admission under Government Quota seats, candidates must take-up the CET Entrance Examinations conducted by KEA, Government of Karnataka. Admission Procedure for the Government Seats is as per KEA norms.

Management Quota Seats:

A candidate who has passed any diploma examinations and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
The candidates passed Diploma from Recognized Board / University from all parts of India can admit directly to the college under Lateral Entry Scheme to 2nd Year B.E. subject to fulfil all the academic eligibility conditions.
