It is a Private, Self-Financing, Non-Minority, Co-Education College which was established in the year 2009. The promoters of Excel College of Architecture and Planning, Komarapalayam are Prof. Dr. A.K. Natesan and the Sri Rengaswamy Educational Trust (SRET). This trust was founded in 2001 by Prof. Dr. A.K. Natesan with the aim of making higher education accessible to deserving students. Prof Dr A K Natesan is the Founder Chairman of SRET and is the Honorable Chairman of the Excel Group Institutions and Kavery Educational Institutions.

Excel College of Architecture and Planning (ECAP) is located at NH-544, Salem Main Road, Sankari West (PO), Pallakapalayam, Komarapalayam, Namakkal (DT). It stands within the 130-acre Excel Institution Campus. The Campus is covered with thick greenery and has a very serene and salubrious atmosphere, very conducive for creative learning. The College is 20 Kms from Erode Junction Railway Station and 40 Kms from Salem Airport. Bhavani Town is 9 Kms from the College Campus.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the college with a grading of A+ Excel College of Architecture and Planning offers 2 Academic Courses, It has the 5 Year UG Course of B.Arch and the2 Year PG Course of M.Arch. Eligibility for admission to B.Arch is A Pass in HSC with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (OR) A pass in Diploma (10+3) With Mathematics is Compulsory and A Pass in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). Eligibility for admission to M.Arch is pass in B.Arch with minimum 50% Marks. BC / MBC Scholarships are available only to those who are natives of Tamil Nadu and who belong to the caste included in the list of BCs and MBCs. Anyone who is not a native of Tamil Nadu is not entitled to any benefit from any scheme even if he belongs to a caste included in the list of BCs & MBCs of Tamil Nadu. Post Matric Scholarship scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and implemented through State Government and UT Administration. The Scheme provides financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. Minority Scholarship is awarded to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education. Applicants must belong to a minority community as notified by the Government of India. These include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and Jains. Eligibility

• Candidates who have passed the 10+2 Scheme of examination with PCM subjects or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics shall be eligible for admission to the First Year of B.Arch. Course for 2021-22.

NATA

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by the Council of Architecture, who being the competent & final authority for the purpose of fixing norms and standards for Architectural Institutions and having the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level and to providing a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to the First Year of the 5-year B.Arch. Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over the country.

The NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for a specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.

The test measures Drawing and Observation skills, the sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability, that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to this specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.NATA is being conducted in terms of the provisions laid down under CoA

Scholarship

BC / MBC / PMS / Minority Scholarship

1. BC / MBC Scholarships are available only to those who are natives of Tamil Nadu and who belong to the caste included in the list of BCs and MBCs. Anyone who is not a native of Tamil Nadu is not entitled to any benefit from any scheme even if he belongs to a caste included in the list of BCs & MBCs of Tamil Nadu.

The Excel Convention Centre is spacious, air-conditioned and has well a furnished Hall 25,375 sq. ft. in area with a stage measuring 30 x 98 ft. It has 12 fully-furnished suite rooms equipped with modern projection and audio system, and a fully air-conditioned Mini-Hall, measuring 8,729 sq. ft. in area. In addition to a Dining Hall, and an open Car Parking Area that can accommodate 1000 cars. The Blade Server connects 1700 systems within the campus, and upon an application, every student is given Wi-Fi Connection on Laptops and even Mobile Phones round the clock.The College has one of the finest central libraries in the District with an impressive collection of 43,610 books on varied topics with 10,302 titles. It has adequate reading space for students where they can study.

Hostels

Excel Institutions provide excellent hostel facilities for students who have come far away from home for their education. At Excel the hostels have good infrastructure separately for Boy students and Girl students to stay comfortably. In all the hostels various activities and amenities are provided in an efficient manner under responsible wardens. Excel hostels provide single, double and multiple-member rooms where they are served multi-cuisines to suit their differing tastes.

Transport

For the benefit of the Students and Faculty Members, Excel Institution Buses are being operated to near and far places like Sankari, Salem, Omalur, Mettur, Tiruchengode, Erode, Arachaloor, Anthiyur, Thindal, Bhavani, Chennimalai, Edappadi and Komarapalayam. Transport is arranged at convenient timings so as to reach the campus and back home in time. For this, a fleet of 59 buses have been inducted into operation. Public Transport is also convenient and frequent as the Main Gate of the EGIs is beside the National Highway-544 between Salem and Coimbatore.
