To be eligible for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) program at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mohanpur (part of the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences), you need to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, meet the minimum age requirement,

Admission Process

1. Online Application

• Register and fill out the online application form.

• Upload required documents.

• Pay the application fee (if applicable).

• B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Admission is based on NEET-UG score

Eligiblity

• • Must be a citizen of India.

  • Age between 17 and 25 years as of 31st December of the admission year (relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

  • Must be a domicile of West Bengal.

  • Must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects, obtaining at least 50% marks (47.5% for reserved categories).

  • Must have qualified and obtained a rank in the NEET-UG examination conducted by NTA.

• Seat Intake: 100 students (with reservations for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, and ICAR nominees).

M.V.SC - 2 Years Course

Admission Process

• Entrance Examination & Written Test
  Admission is based on performance in a university-conducted written examination followed by a personal interview (PI).

  • Written Test contributes 70 marks, while academic performance carries 30 marks, totaling 100 marks.

  • A minimum combined score of 50 out of 100 (50%) is required to qualify.

  • The exam typically consists of 70 MCQs, with a duration of 1 hour 45 minutes. Negative marking applies (–0.25 for each wrong answer, +1 for correct)

• Candidates who qualify through ICAR’s AIEEA PG examination may be exempted from the written test, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.Final Selection
  

• Selection considers the weighted total:

  • 30% from academic scores

  • 70% from entrance test (unless ICAR exempted)
    

Eligiblity

• You must hold a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a recognized university.
  

• A minimum academic performance of 55% aggregate marks (or OGPA of 6.2 on a 10-point scale) is required. For SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates, the requirement is slightly relaxed to 50% marks or OGPA of 6.0.
  

• Submission of the Final Transcript or Provisional Degree Certificate is mandatory.

State Government Scholarships

• Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM): Available for students who have secured at least 75% marks in their Higher Secondary Examination. The scholarship offers a monthly stipend up to ₹1,500 for undergraduate students and ₹2,500 for postgraduate students. 

• OASIS Scholarship: Designed for SC, ST, and OBC students from West Bengal with family income limits of ₹2.5 lakh per annum for SC/ST and ₹1 lakh per annum for OBC. It covers tuition and maintenance expenses. 

• Kanyashree Prakalpa (K2): An initiative for unmarried girls aged 18–19 enrolled in higher studies, providing an annual grant of ₹25,000. 

National Scholarships & Fellowships

• DST-INSPIRE Fellowship: Offered by the Department of Science and Technology for students pursuing postgraduate and Ph.D. programs in science and technology fields. 

• ICAR Fellowship: Provided by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for students pursuing postgraduate and doctoral studies in agricultural sciences.

Placement
