Ganapathy Chettiar College of Engineering & Technology (GCCET) was established in 2008 by Saali Muthukumar Chettiar Educational Trust. The objective of the college is to uplift the lives of underprivileged students. Mr G Muruganantham M.Sc, B.Ed is the Chairman of the Trust. The college is one of the largest self-financing institutes in Tamil Nadu.

GCCET is located in a very beautiful location which is away from pollution and noise and pollution. It is in green and very pleasant surroundings most conducive for academics on a 20 Acres campus. It is situated at Muthukulathur Road, Melakavanoor, Paramakudi, Kavanur, Tamil Nadu. It is 9 Kms from Paramakudi Railway Station and 70 Kms from Madurai Airport.

GCCET is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

GCCET offers 12 UG and PG programs in various disciplines as academic course options for aspiring students. They include B.E (5), B.Tech (2), M.E (4) and MBA (1). GCCET Admission procedure is according to the norms of AICTE, Anna University Chennai and Tamil Nadu Government rules. For B. TECH it is common counselling under TNEA or management seat. TNEA scores are used to select students to engineering college. The college has scholarship arrangements. GATI Scholarship for Girls who want to pursue a career in Science, PM's Scholarship Scheme, AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship, Indian Oil Academic Scholarships, Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship Program, L&T Build India Scholarship, NTPC Scholarship, ONGC Scholarship.
