Ganesh College of Engineering is a Premier Engineering College in Salem. It is a Private, Self-Financed, Non-Minority, Co-Educational Institution, established in the year 2011 which is a division of Sri Ganesh Educational and Charitable Trust. Mr M Thangavel is the Chairman who specifies that the aim of the Institution is to provide quality Technical Education in order to develop a Good Talented Skills for employability to succeed in the National and International Companies.

Admission Procedure

Admissions are based on Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling conducted by Anna University. Candidates are selected based on their 12th standard marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

Scholarship

1. First Graduate Scholarship Scheme

In the G.O. (st) No. 85 Higher Education (J2) Department dated: 16.04.2010, the Government have ordered to grant tuition fee concession to the candidates who are to be the first graduate in a family, those who are attending counselling and joined in professional courses in Government / Aided and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges.Certificate obtained from Head Quarters Deputy Tahsildar in the format prescribed in G.O. Electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate only will be accepted which necessarily shoud include name of applicant’s father, mother, father’s father, father’s mother, mother’s father, mother’s mother, brother (s) and sister (s) and joint declaration by himself and parent/guardian in the prescribed format. If the applicant’s Brother or Sister has already availed First Graduate Tuition Fee concession for studying Professional Courses, then the applicant is not eligible for such concession.

2. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme

In the G.O. (st) No. 6 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (AD3) Department dated 09.01.2012, G.O. (st) No. 92 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (AD3) Department dated 11.09.2012 and G.O. (st) No. 16 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (AD3) Department dated 24.02.2014, the Government have ordered to grant Post Matric Scholarship to SC/SCA/ST candidates and SC/SCA converted Christians, whose parental annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/- from all the sources shall only be eligible. The eligible candidates have to submit income certificate obtained from appropriate authorities and get the Post Matric Scholarship from the colleges where they get admitted.

Centre for Career Development and Training (C- CDT) conduct variety of programs for the students right from first year to hone the students’ skills to work in the competent and challenging environment of the corporate world. C-CDT focuses on overall or 360 degree personality development during the course of study. The services of leading training organizations and psychologist are utilized for the continuous and holistic development of the students.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Interpersonal skill is the ability to interact with people through effective listening and communication. These skills are often called as soft skills or life skills and are used to interact with people around, either individually or as a group. The intrapersonal skills are provided to the students to share their views through proper communication and achieve the intended objective in a workplace or in day-to-day affairs. Training is given to students during third and fourth semester.

INTERVIEW SKILLS:

Presentation skills are necessary in addition to knowledge and skills to crack the interview successfully. The way in which candidates present themselves gives edge over the rest and sets the tone for selection. These skills are inculcated in training programs and also through mock interviews conducted by industry experts and academicians. Interview skill training is conducted during fifth to seventh semester.

It also has a spacious well equipped administrative wing and seminar hall. The college has a large play ground for playing cricket volley ball and other outdoor games and has a basket ball court. The college has a modern RO potable water facility and it also has separate restrooms for boys and girls.

The open air auditorium serves as the stage form the many student events which can accommodate the entire college during special programmes like Alumni meet and annual day celebration.

The library occupies a place of pride in the list of our infrastructure and stands as an asset to both the faculties and students. It can accommodate approximately 50 students at a time.

The canteen is a culinary treat to our students. Healthy food and drinks are available here. Students enjoy their walk to the canteen for relaxing and enjoying a snack.

Hostel

Separate hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. The hostel provides accommodation and nutritious food for all the students. The rooms are furnished with table, chair, cot and fan. The college operates buses for the convenience of students and staffs coming from rural and around Salem city.
