Girijabai Sail Institute of Technology is the first major initiative of Girijabai Sail Memorial Trust (GSMT) towards its mission of excellence in higher education.  GSIT is a premier private Institute established in the year 2012 with the vision of harnessing and nurturing talent and transforming the lives of young aspirants through superior Research and quality Training.  Mr. Satish Sail (EX MLA of Karwar-Ankola Constituency), is the Chairman of GSIT. The main objective of the institute is to strive to attain the status of a Center of great Excellence in Education by imparting high quality curriculum, grooming students’ personality and extending support with value-based Management and Technical Education.  The GSM Trust aims at continuing such efforts and starting more career-oriented courses and Education Institutes at all levels.

GSIT is Affiliated University with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi.  It is Recognized by The Government of Karnataka and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

 
A leading institute in the city GSIT offers UG program B.E. in 4 disciplines and PG program MBA in 4 specializations in Full Time mode. Courses offered by the Institute are recognized and acknowledged by approving bodies like AICTE. The eligibility for admission to these UG courses is on the basis of the results of COMEDK UGET, KCET entrance exams.  Whereas the eligibility for MBA program is based on PGCET, CMAT entrance exam result.

Placements: The non-technical placements are offered on the campus. The placements given were not career-oriented, and they didn't have any scope for technical growth. Mostly the tech support jobs and the incubation centre jobs were offered. But being the first batch, I can't complain much about the campus interviews.

Infrastructure: The college premise houses four major buildings and some minor houses. The campus is developing in its way. The college is bounded by the lush green mountains with fencing provided on all sides and is situated away from all sorts of noise and pollution. The cool and calm environment provided is best suited for learning.

Faculty: We need a special mentioning of the principal of GSIT, Dr Suresh Mane who is an inspiring personality of the institute. He ensures the overall growth of the student. The rest of the faculty members are less experienced but are supportive regarding the curriculum. The personality development sessions were not given which I think is a must for an engineer.

As per our records, Girijabai Sail Institute of Technology can offer scholarships for the session 2023-24 for various programs. However, you should enquire about scholarships from the college officials. Remember the minimum fee for the program at this institute is Rs.128,000.
