The Government Vellore Medical College (GVMC) also known as Vellore Medical College, Vellore (VMCV) is a government owned Institute which was established in the year 2005 with the intention of providing education in the field of Medicine and Allied Sciences and to provide health care services to people.  The Medical College Hospital in front of the institute stands as a reference center, for neighboring districts including Chittoor Andhira Pradesh, Kanchipuram and Tiruvannamalai Districts.

Subsidised fees and scholarships

The college believes that money should not be a barrier to education. Therefore, the course fees are heavily subsidised, i.e. the annual fee for MBBS excluding accommodation is Rs. 31000 after the first year even though the full cost per student is estimated at several lakhs per annum. 

Eligibility Criteria

• CMC Vellore students who cannot pay the fees can apply for the scholarships, which are available for all undergraduate courses (Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences).
