Government College of Engineering Chandrapuris established in 1996 This is the only Government Institute under Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. This Government institute is completely funded by Government of Maharashtra. The Institute is under Director of Technical Education, M.S., Mumbai and is administered through its Regional office at Nagpur. Now a days, due to globalization there is stiff competition at the national & International level as well phenomenal growth in the technology. For this, competent technocrats & engineers are in great demand and to serve this requirement, Government College of Engineering,Chandrapur is taking efforts to produce high quality technocrats.

Admission Process

First Year Engineering:
Admissions to First Year Engineering are done by Director of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra State. These admission are given on the basis of Common Engineering Entrance Test every year. Rules and regulations for these admissions are decided by DTE and Nonfictions and schedule for various online rounds/ counseling round declared by DTE time to time. Direct Second Year Engineering:
Admissions to direct second year engineering after post SSC /HSC Diploma in Engineering for those students who have secured minimum 60% marks in final year Diploma examination conducted by MSBTE are made by DTE on the basis of their final year diploma merit. Objective

The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.

Scope

These scholarships are available for studies in India only and will be awarded through an Agency designated by the State Government/UT Administration for this purpose.

Number of scholarship

21,748 StateScholarship will be distributed among the students of minority communities throughout the State. Based on the population of these communities, the distribution of scholarship will be as under :

Boys Hostel
The College has a Boys hostel located in the residential zone of the college campus. Hostels are well surrounded by greenery. Hostel admissions are made strictly based on merit and reservation rules as per government norms. Admission progress is as per CAP round admission of Engineering admissions. Rooms are allotted to students as per their choice by giving priority to higher merit students first. During admissions, students are made aware of hostel rules and regulations. All the rooms are well illuminated and have a good ambiance. Each room has a capacity for two students, each will have a separate table, chair, bed, and cupboard, and all rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, tube lights. All necessary facilities such as Mess, Common Room, Badminton Court, Gym, Guest room, RO water purifier, Newspaper, Magazine, 24 hr Security, Sweepers are available to students. Students are involved in hostel administration by forming various committees. Active participation is taken by hostel students in various events in the hostels such as Ganesh-Utsav, hostel day, etc. Maintenance activity is carried out as and when necessary.
