Government College of Engineering, Srirangam (GCES) was started during the year 2013.This was the Tenth state owned Government Engineering College in Tamil Nadu. The college is growing from strength to strength and gaining recognition for its contribution to the cause of Engineering Education. Since its inception, the college has striven incessantly to provide Quality Education and to produce skilled knowledgeable engineers.

Government College of Engineering, Srirangam is located on a 10+ Acres site on the Trichy - Madurai Highway SethurappattiRoad ,Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The closest Traffic Hubs from the College are Trichy Railway Station and Trichy Bus Stand at 18 Kms and Trichy Airport, 21.4 Kms away.

GCES has the approval of the All India Council for Technical Training (AICTE) New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College has NAAC and NBA approval,

GCES has 4 Under Graduate / B.E courses in different disciplines as course options to choose from with a combined approved intake per year of 300 students. The College offers scholarships to eligible students. The scholarships include the Pragati-Sakshmam scholarship for girls, and scholarships for BC, MBC, SC, ST, and HESS students. All scholarships are ruled by eligibility criteria.

The College offers good Infra Structure and Facilities for the convenience of all on the campus. Spacious SMART Classrooms and Lecture Halls, Computer Lab, well stocked Library. Men and Women Hostels which are well contained, Principal's Quarters, Guest House, Sports facilities, Canteen , Medical Facilities, Workshop Blocks, Auditorium, Gym, Guest House, 24 Hour Potable Water Plant, stand-by Electricity and more are the facilities avaulable. There are a number of Student Committees for the welfare of the Student and Campus Community like the Anti Ragging Committee, Anti-Ragging Squad, Discipline and Welfare Committee, Complaint cum Redressal Committee and SC/ST committee.

The College has a Training & Placement Cell. The year 2023-24 saw 73% Placement Achievement Percentage with 152 Students getting placed successfully. Government College of Engineering, Srirangam admissions 2025 are entrance based. Government College of Engineering, Srirangam offers 4 years B.E. / B.Tech to the students. The course is offered in Full Time mode. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website of the institution.

Placement

Government College of Engineering Trichy has seen strong placement performance in recent years. In 2023–24, approximately 143 offers were extended to around 105 students, The placement cell, supported by student and faculty coordinators, organizes training, seminars, mock interviews, and campus drives. They aim to achieve 100% placement, with over 90% placement rates consistently.

Hostel

1. Application for admission to hostel shall be made in the prescribed form which can be had from the Hostel Office.
2. Allotement of rooms shall be made by the Deputy Wardens under the orders of Warden.
3. Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them and should not change/exchange rooms without prior permission from the Deputy Warden/Hostel Authorities. Violations of this rule will result in the Expulsion of the student concerned from the hostel.
4. Resident Member may be shifted from one room to another without assigning any reason by the Deputy Warden.
5. Hostel Furniture shall not be removed from one room to another under any circumstances. Students are responsible for the care of furniture and fittings in their respective rooms. The cost of furniture and fittings will be recovered from them in case of any damage or loss along with the fine of Rs.1000/-.
6. Students are not allowed to use extra electrical fitting in their rooms unless permitted by the Hostel Authorities.
