Government Engineering College Huvina Hadgali 

Government Engineering College, Huvina Hadgali is one of the distinguished institutions started by Government of Karnataka in the year 2007.  It is the only State run Engineering College in the rural area of Kalyana-Karnataka and is the most accessible institute to the students from the backward districts of Bellary and Vijayanagara. 

The GEC, Huvina Hadgali is situated on a small hill called “Huli Gudda” in 25 acres land, which is 7 km from Huvina Hadagali town in Haveri-Ranebennur Road. The silent and lush green environment of the college makes it an ideal place for learning.  The College is located in Huvina Hadagali, Haveri Road, Vijayanagara District, Thippapura, Bellary, Bangalore, Karnataka.

Government Engineering College, Huvina Hadagali which comes under the administration of Department of Collegiate and Technical Education, Bangalore is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.  It is approved by AICTE New Delhi and is included in UGC 2(f) list.

The Government Engineering College is established with four branches of Engineering, namely, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and computing & Engineering and offers Bachelor’s degree BE in the same with an annual intake of 60 seats per course.  As per Government order all admissions to the college will be through KEA-Karnataka Examination Authority, Government of Karnataka on Merit-Based Entrance Test.

GEC Huvina Hadgali provides the best of Facilities like Hostel, Library, Laboratory, Computer Lab, Canteen, Conference Hall, NSS, Scholarship, Sports, Placement and Training Activities, etc.

The college has a team of dedicated, well-qualified and student-friendly Faculty, who impart education with the latest teaching tools and are giving the best to the student community.  The non-teaching staff join hands in the administrative activities of the college.

Placement and Training activities

The placement and training cell at college level was started as a separate entity in the year 2007. In the year of inception, the placement and training cell modestly established contact with few organizations. The independent placement and training rooms in the main administrative block has been built with a view to provide the convenience for executives to conduct fair and transparent talent search to recruit good quality engineers for positions in organization.

Placement and training cell is providing some pre – placement training for the pre final year students. Placement and training cell organizes talks from various professionals from different zones.

Shri. Pradeep A. S. Assistant Professor (Group-B), Electronics and Communication Engineering Department is heading the Placement and training unit of the college.

The following Scholarship facilities are offered to Government Engineering college students by State Government and Government bodies for the academic year 2021-22.

Social Welfare Department, Minority welfare department and back ward class welfare departments of Government of Karnataka Provides Hostel Facility to the students belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule tribe, Minority, OBC and EWS along with following criteria:

• Students who are currently studying.
• Students residing in Karnataka.
