Government Engineering College, Talakal (GECT)
Government Engineering College, Talakal is a well-known modern Educational Institute which was established in 2014 by Government of Karnataka in the district of Koppal, Karnataka, with the sole intention of imparting Technical Education to the aspiring and deserving candidates from the rural areas in order to elevate their living standards. The main object of the institute is to provide quality education to enhance individual performance and elevate professional standards through innovative training programs in varied disciplines, Research and Extension activities. It is functioning under the aegis of the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore.
This unique Government Engineering College Talakal is located in a whopping 35 acres of land at Government Engineering College, Talakal Taluka, Yalaburga District, Koppal, Karnataka. It is situated on NH67 adjacent to next to VTU Kaushalya Tarabeti Kendra. The college is well-connected by Railways. With many major industries near the college, GECT is termed to be the next Educational Hub in North Karnataka.
This GEC offers five Full time B. E. Degree courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with an annual intake of 60 seats each. The merit-based admission process of students to BE Degree program is done by centralized selection through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
The GECT provides all essential Facilities which include Academic Block, Classrooms, Workshop, Computer Laboratory, Canteen, Boys & Girls Hostel.
