Government Engineering College Palakkad, Sreekrishnapuram is a premier educational institute established in 1999. It is situated in Palakkad district of Kerala. The college is fully owned by Govt.of Kerala and is under the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala. GEC Sreekrishnapuram is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated to APJ Abdul kalam Technological University (from 2015 onwards)

The Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram admission to B. Tech is offered based on candidates performance in the entrance exam- KEAM. Then, candidates have to participate in the KEAM counselling conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram.

The central library of the college is attached with the main building of the college, which satisfy the information needs of the college community. It also caters the needs of students regarding career guidance and personality development. The floor area of the library is 578 sq.metre. Central library is automated. The total collection is 24639 books. All books are classified and catalogued according to international standards. It follows the open accesses system.It is open to all students, faculty and other staff members of the college from 9.30AM to 4.30PM.

GECPKD Data Centre providing following services such as Campus Networking and Management ,Management of Digital Library Server , Management of Language Lab Server,Managemenet of local Web Server ,Management of DHCP and DNS servers , Management and maintenance of Campus WIFI Network , IP-PBX Controller Installation and Management For IP Phone conectivity throughout in Campus ,Design, coding and updation of college website and also college Intranet website (www.gecpkd.edu).Datacentre is a rendezvous place for Centralised distribution and servicing of digital data and Software .

About hostel

The college have one boys and one ladies hostel with capacity 130 each. These hostels are headed by the warden assisted by Resident Tutors. Prof. Sindhu Mathew A P, Dept. of Mathematics is in charge of ladies hostel. Messes are run on dividing system and there is provision for vegetarian and non- vegetarian messes. The hostel inmates are expected to follow the hostel rules strictly and as directed by warden and resident tutors.
