Government Engineering College Thrissur (GEC Thrissur) formerly Government Engineering College Trichur, an ISO 9001: 2008 certified institution is one of the most prestigious and reputed technical education institution in south India. The College was established in the year 1957 with under graduate programmes in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering branches. The foundation stone of the college Main Building was laid down by the then Hon. Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Prof. S. Rajaraman, a Civil Engineer of international repute and author of several books in engineering was the first Principal of the college.

• The Registration time will be 9.00 AM to 12.00 Noon
• Candidates should be included in KEAM Rank list 2023
• All the candidates who took admission in any educational institution except the Government/Government Aided  Engineering Colleges or Govt. Cost sharing Engineering colleges (CAPE/LBS/IHRD/CCE/SCT) must produce NOC in the prescribed proforma (click here to download the format) in the college letter head specifying that the institute has no objection to the candidate participating the spot admission process on 14.09.23 at GEC Thrissur and that in the event of candidate getting a selection, the institute is willing to issue the TC to the candidate..
• Candidates who are already admitted to any of the Govt./Govt. Aided Engineering Colleges
  can register and attend the process with their Admission Slip(obtained from the college)
  alone.
• Candidates who are already admitted to any of the institution other than the above mentioned colleges  should bring their Admission Slip along with NOC obtained from the concerned college.
• All other students must produce the documents given in the below given list.

The Central Library is located in the main campus of the college in a three-storey building with adequate furniture and equipment suitable for advanced library and information service. The library has a growing collection of 68450 books in various branches of Engineering, Technology and Sciences.The bibliographic records of book in the library can be accessed through the online OPAC.Which help the users to know the holdings of the library and availability of library resource.The library has acquired all the basic Hardware and Software systems essential for modern library and information services.The library is fully computerized using an integrated multi-user library management system Koha.The package supports all the in-house operations of the library.

Library Building

       The present library building was donated by PTA of this College. The plinth area of library is 1103.3m².The library provides more than 150 seating for users in Reference, Stack and News paper Sections.

Library Timing

        Library will remain open from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days.

College Bus

There are 4 Buses including one donated by the College PTA and a Jeep are on service to reduce the transport problems of students and staff of this institution. These service are very much helpful to the students and staff for their journey to and from the college and various industrial visits in connection with the curriculum. The students are issued identity cum Bus Pass during the admission process.
