ADMISSIOM :

Government Law College (GLC) is one of the oldest law colleges of the State of Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), Chennai. The college offers admissions into three-year course of B.L., five-year course of BA B.L. and two-year course of M.L. with specialisation in Property Law.

• The admission procedure for BA BL and BL in Government Law College shall be the same to be conducted by TNDALU.
• The selection of candidates is done as per academic merit of last qualifying examination and rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu.
• To be eligible for BA BL, candidates must have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks.
• For admission to BL, candidates must have completed three-year Bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern from Universities of Tamil Nadu.
• All eligible candidates shall be allotted seats on a merit-cum-choice basis.
• Admission seekers applying for the course in ML need to have BA BL or BL degree with minimum 50% marks in each year of the course.
• Applications shall be invited by TNDALU in offline mode and can be obtained personally or by post from the Registrar Office of the University or from the college itself.
• Admission to the BA BL and BL is done on the basis of academic merit through counselling.
• The candidates shall remit application fee through remittance challan in any branch of Indian Bank.
• The selection shall be affected on merit basis as per the reservation policy of the State of Tamil Nadu.
• The University website shall notify the dates and process for ML admissions in affiliated colleges.

Government Law College Madurai Application Process 2023

Application to the college can be made through application forms issued by TNDALU in offline mode only. For each course separate forms have to be filled-up. The application forms can be had in any of the following ways:

• Candidates seeking application by post must send an requisition letter mentioning the course they are seeking admission into along with requisite fee to the address mentioned below.
• Also, candidates may obtain the application form personally from the Principal of the college by paying the requisite fee in cash.
• The application processing fee shall be paid through remittance Challan in any branch of Indian Bank.
• The challan should be downloaded from the University or obtained from the college itself.
• The cost of application form for SC/ST candidates is INR 250 (in person) and INR 350 (by post).
• For other candidates, the application cost shall be INR 500 (in person) and INR 600 (by post).
• SC/ST category candidates must submit an attested photocopy of Community Certificate along with remittance Challan to avail concession on application processing fee.

·         ELIGIBILITY – 5 YEAR COURSE

·         Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.
For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.

·         ELIGIBILITY – 3 YEAR COURSE

·         Candidates who have passed a three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.

·         ELIGIBILITY – P.G COURSE

·         A candidate who has passed the B.L. Degree Examination and has secured not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in all the Three Years of the Three Year B.L. Degree Course or in all Five Years of the Five Year B.L. Degree Course together, as the case may be, shall be eligible to apply for the M.L. Degree Course. However a relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belong in to SC/ST communities.
