Government Law of College, Namakkal – GLC-NMK was established in 2019 by the Government of Tamil Nadu through G.O.Ms.No.142 Law (LS) Department, dated 24.07.2019. The college is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, and serves as a pioneering institution that addresses the educational needs of students from the western districts of Tamil Nadu.

Namakkal Railway Station is 2.4 Kms from the College, while Salem Airport is 52 Kms away.The College offers only Undergraduate Courses at the moment. The College offers a Five year Integrated BA, LLB and Three year LLB Course where the students will also undergo Internships, Moot Courts, Simulation and Negotiation exercises every year to get acquainted with the actual functioning of the Courts and Tribunals.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate 5 Year B.A., LL.B Course allows candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate 3 Year LL.B Course is allowed for candidates who have passed a Three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.

Scholarships are available for all students meeting the eligibility norms as per specific G.O issued by the Govt of Tamil Nadu. Please contact the College Office for details and procedure to apply.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission to 3 Year (LL.B) ) / 5 Year (B.A., LL.B) Degree Course is based on Academic Merit through counseling.​Government Law College, Namakkal, established in 2019 and affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), offers admissions to its law programs based on merit. Prospective students must complete the TNDALU application form within the stipulated deadlines. For the 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program, applicants should have completed 10+2 education, while the 3-year LL.B. program requires a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Admissions are determined by the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations, and no entrance test is conducted.
