Government Law College, Vellore is located at 1st West Cross Road, Gandhi Nagar West, Vellore - 632006, near Silkmill Stop, Katpadi, from a campus spreading tom 10.80 Acres, of which 43700 Sq Ft is the built up area. Initially, the college operated from an older building in 2009, but it has since relocated to a modern, eco-friendly campus covering 10.8 acres, of which 43700 Sq Ft (1.003 Acres)is the Constructed Area. Katpadi Railway Station is 2.01 Kms from the College Campus, while Chennai Airport is 112 Kms away.

Government Law College, Vellore is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest rating of A++.  GLCV offers 2 Undergraduate Courses - a 5 Year B.A, LL.B and a 3 Year LL.B It also has 1 Postgraduate Course, which is a 2 Year Full Time LL.M Course.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate 5 Year B.A., LL.B Course allows candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission. For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given. The authorised intake for this course is 80 Students per year.Eligibility for the Undergraduate 3 Year LL.B Course is allowed for candidates who have passed a Three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.The authorised intake for this course is 80 Students per year.

Eligibility for the Postgraduate, LL.M Course is eligible for candidate who has passed the B.L. Degree Examination and has secured not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in all the Three Years of the Three Year B.L. Degree Course or in all Five Years of the Five Year B.L. Degree Course together, as the case may be, shall be eligible to apply for the M.L. Degree Course. However a relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belong in to SC/ST communities. The authorised intake for this course is 2:0 Students per year.
