Admission Procedure

Admission to Government Medical College, Eluru for the MBBS program is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). • NEET-UG Examination: Candidates must appear for the NEET-UG 2025 examination.

• Result Declaration: NEET-UG 2025 results are expected to be announced on June 13, 2025 

• Counseling: Post-result, candidates must participate in the counseling process:

  • All India Quota (AIQ): 15% of the total seats are filled through centralized counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) 

  • State Quota: 85% of the seats are reserved for candidates from Andhra Pradesh and are filled through state-level counseling organized by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences 

• Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET-UG ranks, category, and preference during the counseling process.

• Admission Confirmation: Upon seat allotment, candidates must report to the designated college and complete the admission formalities, including document verification and fee payment.

Eligiblity

• Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. A minimum aggregate score of 50% is required in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the minimum aggregate score is 40%

• Age Requirement: Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year. There is no upper age limit  

• NEET-UG Qualification: Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) with the required percentile:

Placement

As a newly established institution (founded in 2023), Government Medical College, Eluru does not yet have a placement record or graduating batch. However, like all government medical colleges in India, students who complete the MBBS program are required to undergo a one-year compulsory rotatory internship at the attached Government General Hospital, Eluru.
