GMC Kota was established in 1992. The Government Medical College, [GMC] Kota came in the existence in March 1992 and the first principal of the college was Dr. RL Ajmera. The first batch was started in the year 1992-93 session and regular classes were started in the ESI Hospital building at Jhalawar road Kota with 50 students. The institute is recognized by MCI since December 1998.
The institute offers medicine-related courses. Admission to the MBBS course is based on the NEET UG exam and admission to the MD course is based on the NEET PG exams.

Govt. Medical College, Kota offers M.B.B.S. course with an intake of 150 students for which the selection is done on the basis of score in NEET UG followed by a personal interview.
The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for admission is to have passed 10+2/ graduate degree in medical science with 45% marks.

Key Points:
· Candidates must be registered as Medical Practitioner as per the rules of the Medical Council of India/ any other state, before applying for PG degree in the college.
· The candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories are awarded a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate score of the qualifying exam.
