GMC Kota was established in 1992. The Government Medical College, [GMC] Kota came in the existence in March 1992 and the first principal of the college was Dr. RL Ajmera. The first batch was started in the year 1992-93 session and regular classes were started in the ESI Hospital building at Jhalawar road Kota with 50 students. The institute is recognized by MCI since December 1998.The institute offers medicine-related courses. Admission to the MBBS course is based on the NEET UG exam and admission to the MD course is based on the NEET PG exams.

Government Medical College, Kota is situated at Rangbari Road, about 14 kilometers away from Kota junction railway station and about 10 kilometers away from Rajasthan road ways bus stand.The campus comprises the college building, administrative block, auditorium, indoor courts and gymnasium, E-Library, E-Classroom, boys’ and girls’ hostels, guest house, faculty and staff accommodation, new Medical College Hospital and an independent branch of SBI.

The non clinical and paraclinical subjects running in this triple story college building are Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic medicine and Preventive & social medicine. A spacious examination hall, four lecture theatres with sitting capacity of 300 students in each theater, central library and a well equipped conference hall are also situated in the college building.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission 2025

GMC Kota offers an MBBS program at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 examination. Aspirants seeking admission to MBBS must obtain a score in the NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

MD/MS Admission 2025

GMC Kota offers MD and MS courses at the PG level with a total seat allocation of 186. Admission to MD/MS courses is based on a score in the NEET PG examination, followed by counselling.

DM/ M.Ch Admission 2025

GMC Kota DM/ M.Ch Admission depends on the NEET SS score. A total of 12 seats are allocated for DM/ MCh admission at GMC Kota. The duration of the course is three years. Candidates must have passed MD/MS/DNB in relevant fields to be eligible for admission to DM/ MCh.

Placement
