The GMC&SFH Azamgarh established by Uttar Pradesh Government in 2006 & governed by Secretariat office, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Medical Education Section -1, Vikas Bhawan, Lucknow (U.P.). The quality and other activities are monitored by Directorate General of Medical Education office, 6th floor, Jawahar Bhawan, Lucknow(U.P.).

GMC Azamgarh also known as Government Medical College & Super Facility Hospital Chakrapanpur Azamgarh, was mainly established in 2006. It is affiliated with King George’s Medical University, Lucknow (KGMU) and is approved by national regulatory bodies like the National Medical Commission. GMC Azamgarh is situated in Chakrapanpur Azamgarh on a 105-acre well-maintained campus and ranked 242th among medical colleges in India by College Dunia rankings.

GMC Azamgarh offers flagship programmes, such as MBBS, which includes 100 seats out of which 85 seats are reserved for Uttar Pradesh Quota and remaining for all students and admissions are done through the NEET UG Entrance exam. GMC Azamgarh also offers undergraduate courses, including B.Sc. Nursing, along with several postgraduate courses, such as MD, DNB and MS programmes. Admissions in these UG and PG courses are based on the National level Medical Examinations. The average fees of flagship programs like MBBS in the institute are INR 36,000 per year.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission

GMC Azamgarh provides MBBS as its flagship course at the undergraduate level for 6 Years, including 1 year internship. GMC Azamgarh MBBS Admission is based on the score in NEET UG. GMC Azamgarh offers a total of 100 Seats for admission to MBBS.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must pass 10+2 with Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and English from a recognised board.
  
• Must have at least 50% Marks in Aggregate in 10+2.

UG Admission

GMC Azamgarh also offers admission to various other UG Courses such B.Sc (Nursing). Admission to all the UG Courses like B.Sc Nursuing at GMC Azamgarh is solely entrance-based like CNET (Common Nursuing Entrance Test) conducted by Uttar Pradesh State Level Medical Bodies. Candidates can apply for admission to their desired program through the official website of GMC Azamgarh. The basic eligibility for getting admission to B.Sc Nursuing at GMC Azamgarh is 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and the final selection will be done on the basis of an entrance exam (CNET).

UG Eligibility Criteria

• Must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects with a minimum aggregate of 55% Marks.

PG Admission

• GMC Azamgarh provides admission to multiple PG courses such as MD, MS and DNB and others in various specialisations in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, and Surgery.

PG Eligibility Criteria

• For admission to MD / MS / DNB, candidates must have passed MBBS or a relevant bachelor’s with 55% Marks recognised by the Medical Council of India and should have completed the internship.
  

Scholarship
