Govt Medical College, Ariyalur - GMC Ariyalur started on 26.07.1960 with the vision to cater to the needs of people of Cement City of Tamilnadu. This Government Institution was started to carter the needs of rural people and to provide quality care to the people. Government Medical College and Hospital was started in 12.06.2020. This College plans to nurture meritorious students to achieve their dreams. 150 students are taken every year for MBBS course. This Medical College is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Guindy, Chennai.

The College offers Under Graduate MBBS Course with a sanctioned intake of 150 Students per annum. The admission process for the MBBS course at Govt Medical College, Ariyalur is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) score. Candidates must also meet the minimum eligibility criteria, which includes passing 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) with a minimum percentage and being at least 17 years old. The college uses the NEET-UG score and state reservation policies for admission and counseling.

Admission Procedure

The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh for Backward Classes. 

Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities have no income limit. 

The scholarship covers tuition fees, special fees, exam fees, and other compulsory fees, or Rs. 2.00 lakh per year, whichever is lower.
