T.D. Medical College is situated in the suburban area of Vandanam, 9 km south of the Alappuzha (previously Alleppey) town, facing the NH 47, in Alappuzha district of Kerala State, South India. The initials T.D. stand for Thirumala Devaswom, which in Sanskrit means belonging to the Lord of Thirumala, since this medical college was started in 1963 under the patronage of the T.D. Temple at Anantha Narayana Puram of Alappuzha. Initially the management of the college was done by the Kerala Cultural & Educational Society. It was later brought under a trust called “T.D. Medical College Trust”, which was headed by the President of the Thirumala Devaswom.

The President of the Thirumala Devaswom was Sri. K Nagendra Prabhu and Secretary Sri. N Venkiteswara Prabhu. The day to day administration of the college was done by the T.D. Medical College Administrative Council. Sri. N. V. Prabhu, Thoppil House, Alappuzha, the Honorary Secretary of this council, was the driving force behind the starting of this medical college The construction of the building started with the foundation stone laying ceremony by sri. R Sankar, Chief Minister of Kerala on March 06, 1963 and the classes started on August 1963.

Admission Procedure

T.D. Medical College Alappuzha Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 42 courses offered at T.D. Medical College Alappuzha. The courses are offered disciplines like Paramedical, Medical, Pharmacy. T.D. Medical College Alappuzha courses includes MBBS, B.Sc (Nursing), Diploma, BCVT, M.D, B Pharma, M.S, GNM, DM. Admission Criteria

For MBBS:

1. Eligibility: 10+2 with 50% aggregate in PCB and English (45% for reserved categories).

2. Entrance Exam: Must qualify NEET-UG.

3. Counseling: Conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.

4. Seat Distribution: 85% state quota (KEAM/CEE) and 15% All India Quota (AIQ) via MCC.

For PG (MD/MS):

1. MBBS degree recognized by NMC + completed internship.

2. Must qualify NEET-PG.

3. Counseling by CEE Kerala (State Quota) and MCC (All India Quota).

For DM/M.Ch:

• Must possess MD/MS in relevant specialty.

• Admission through NEET-SS.

For B.Sc./Paramedical:
