Government Dental College, Kottayam, established in 2002, is the third government dental college in Kerala. It is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).The college is situated within the Medical College Campus at Gandhinagar, Kottayam, which provides a multidisciplinary environment and access to advanced healthcare facilities. It aims to produce skilled dental professionals and offers high-quality education and clinical training.This third Dental College under government sector in the state was formally inaugurated by Sri.A.K.Antony, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala on 1-10-2002. Sri.P.Shankaran Hon'ble Minister for H&FW presided over the function.Sri.K.M. Mani Hon'ble Minister for Revenue & Law inaugurated the Dental Specialty Service of the College. The foundation stone for the new building was laid by Sri.P.Shankaran Hon'ble Minister for H & FW on 28/04/2003. The function was presided over by Sri.Thomas Chazhikadan MLA.

Admission Procedure

Admission Criteria

For BDS (Undergraduate)

Eligibility:

• Must have completed 10+2 with PCB and English with minimum qualifying marks.

Entrance Exam:

• Candidates must qualify NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Counselling:

• Admissions are allotted through Kerala State NEET Counselling conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.

For MDS (Postgraduate)

Eligibility:

• BDS degree recognized by DCI and completion of one-year internship.

Entrance Exam:

• Admission through NEET-MDS conducted by NBE.

Counselling:

• Conducted at both state (CEE Kerala) and national (MCC) levels.
