  Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) is a private business school set up in 2004 by Late Prof. Bala V. Balachandran, J.L. Kellogg Distinguished Professor of Accounting and Information Management at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA,  with its first campus in Chennai and Gurugram.

  Following the establishment of Indian School of Business (ISB), Prof. Balachandran wanted to establish a business school in his home state of Tamil Nadu, and set up the Great Lakes Institute of Management in the capital city of Chennai with a model similar to the ISB involving a one year MBA programme, global visiting faculty and international academic collaborations.

  Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) is accredited by AMBA, SAQS, and NBA. In 2008, Great Lakes’ one-year PGPM and PGDM full-time programmes were approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body for technical education, under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India . Since 2012, Great Lakes has also started offering the traditional two-year PGDM programme.

  GLIM is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), UK, one of the three main global accreditation bodies in business education. Great Lakes is the youngest and 7th institute in India to get accreditation from the association. Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) as well as by SAQS (South Asian Quality Assurance System).

  Great Lakes Chennai is ranked 31 under the Management category by NIRF 2023 and 17 by Business Today 2023 under the Management category.

  Great Lakes’ 32 acre green campus in Chennai was the first campus in South Asia to be given the LEED Platinum rating. Great Lakes Chennai Executive Programs Admission 2024

Great Lakes Chennai offers 4 Executive Programs and they are as follows:

1.PGXPM: This program is designed to help working executives develop management skills and take up higher leadership positions. It is a 20-month duration program.

2.PGPM Flex: The 2-year PGPM FLEX program is aimed at working professionals with 2 to 10 years of experience. This program helps the executives to pursue the world-class program while giving them the flexibility to continue their work.

3.MBA in Business Analytics: MBA in Business Analytics is offered by Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, in collaboration with the Great Lakes Institute of Management, India

4.Global PGP for Family Enterprises Management: Global PGP for Family Enterprises Management is a 11 month program offered by the Great Lakes Chennai in collaboration with Babson College, Massachusetts.

Placement Reports

  The campus placement process for the PGPM Class of 2023 witnessed an excellent season with over 30 new recruiters on board. The average CTC of the batch is 18.10 Lakhs p.a. and the hihest domestic CTC offered was 34 Lakhs p.a.

  The campus placement process for the PGDM Class of 2023, witnessed an excellent season with 100% placements by January 2023. The average CTC offered to the Class of 2022 increased by 15% to INR 14.5 Lakhs p.a. while the highest domestic CTC was INR 46 Lakhs p.a. offered by a multinational consulting firm.

  Great Lakes is offering 40 diversity and merit scholarships for students in the Class of 2022-23, with 30% being for female students.
