Admission to Gurudeva Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Kottayam is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), the Government of Kerala, and AICTE. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programmes must qualify through the prescribed admission process, primarily based on KEAM for government quota seats, while management quota admissions are offered as per the applicable institutional and government norms. Applicants are required to submit the completed application form along with the necessary academic documents and entrance examination details, wherever applicable. Shortlisted candidates must attend document verification and counseling before seat allotment. Admission is confirmed only after successful verification of original certificates, payment of the prescribed tuition fee, and completion of all admission formalities within the stipulated timeline. B.Tech 

Admission Process

• Check Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Class 12/Plus Two or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with an approved optional subject, and meet the prescribed minimum marks criteria.

• Apply for KEAM: Eligible candidates should register for the KEAM Engineering entrance examination through the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, by submitting the application form and required documents.

• Appear for KEAM: Candidates must appear for the KEAM examination and obtain a valid KEAM Engineering rank, which is used for the centralized admission process in Kerala engineering colleges.

• Participate in Allotment: Candidates can register their preferred colleges and B.Tech branches through the CEE Kerala Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). Seats are allotted based on rank, preferences, category and availability.

• Complete College Admission: Candidates allotted a seat at GIST, Kottayam must pay the prescribed fee, report to the college within the specified deadline, undergo document verification and submit the required original certificates to complete admission.

Eligibility 

• Candidates must have passed Class 12/Plus Two or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.

• Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination.

• Candidates should have Chemistry as an approved optional subject. Other approved subjects such as Computer Science, Biotechnology or Biology may also be considered as per applicable norms.

• Candidates generally need to secure the minimum prescribed marks in the qualifying examination, with relaxation applicable to eligible reserved categories as per government rules.

• For KEAM-based admission, candidates must satisfy the eligibility and admission requirements prescribed by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala and the applicable regulations for the admission year.

M.Tech 

Admission Process 

• Check Eligibility: Candidates should have a relevant B.Tech./B.E. degree from a recognised university and satisfy the minimum marks and branch requirements prescribed for the chosen M.Tech programme.

• Appear for GATE: Candidates with a valid GATE score in the relevant engineering discipline can apply for M.Tech admission at GIST.

• Submit Application: Eligible candidates should apply to GIST through the prescribed application process and submit the required academic certificates, degree documents and GATE scorecard.

• Selection: Admission is primarily based on GATE performance; additional selection criteria such as counselling or an interview may apply as per the institute's admission rules.

• Complete Admission: Selected candidates must report to GIST, complete document verification, pay the prescribed admission fees and submit the required original certificates to confirm their M.Tech seat.

Eligibility 

• Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university or institution.

• Candidates should have secured the minimum qualifying percentage/CGPA prescribed by the university and Kerala admission authorities.

• A valid GATE score in the relevant discipline is generally preferred for M.Tech admission.

• Candidates from related engineering branches may be eligible for specific M.Tech specialisations, subject to the branch-wise eligibility requirements.

• Candidates must satisfy the admission and eligibility norms prescribed by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and the Government of Kerala for the respective admission year.
