Admission Procedure

Admission Criteria

B.Tech Admission

GKV Haridwar has B.Tech in CSE as one of its most popular courses. The duration of the program is 4 years (3 years for lateral entry). Admission to the college is based on the student’s JEE Main exam scores, followed by counselling through JoSAA/CSAB.

B.Sc Admission

GKV Haridwar offers full-time B.Sc programmes across 7 disciplines in Sciences. The duration of the programme is 3 years. Admission is conducted based on CUET-UG scores, followed by the university’s counselling process.

MCA Admission

GKV Haridwar full-time MCA programme is structured to equip students with an in-depth understanding of computer applications, software development, and IT system-based knowledge. The duration of the course is 2 years. Students are admitted based on CUET-PG scores and then via university-level counselling.

PhD Admission

Scholarship

Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar received the approval of the establishment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Cell from the UGC Vide letter no. F.9-14/2004 (SCT) dated 30-12-2004. To boost up the program, University at the first appointed Prof. R.D. Sharma, Liasion officer. Thereafter in March 2006 the sanctioned post of coordinator Gr-II, Section officer, Research cum statistical officer, Steno/Data entry Operator, and peon were filled. An advisory committee for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes was constituted under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. The cell is working efficiently some of the latest features of the cell is mention below. It is a matter of great pleasure and satisfaction that the supreme body of the University, i.e. senate (The board of directors) has passed the resolution sanctioned a membership of SC/ST representatives in the board of directors, the board of management, and academic council as directed by the University Grants Commission.

As per the decision of the advisory committee of the cell ramps for Differently abled persons (PWD) are being constructed in the respective buildings in the University. The University has accepted 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in admission from the year. i.e. 2010-11The cell continuously watching the welfare of the SC/ST/OBC/PWD students and in case of any grievances, the cell actively takes appropriate measures to sort out their problem. Due to efforts of the cell, the University is providing rent-free accommodation to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students in the hostels. The representation of SC/ST in all admissions/selection committees is ensured as per guidelines. A special recruitment drive for the appointment of SC/ST/OBC/PWD for teaching and non-teaching posts is in progress. Students are being benefited from the remedial coaching classes organized by the University.

Facilities Offered @ Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar

The Central Library of Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar exists with the inception of the university in 1902. It was shifted to the present building in 1936 after the havoc of flood took place in Kangri village where the university was established by Swami Shardhanand ji. The library is an inestimable treasure not only for the Uttarakhand state but for the whole country. Rare books and manuscripts on Indian knowledge and tradition (Literature, Religion, Philosophy, and Culture) are preserved in the reference section here. Besides literature, other subjects’ books are there on different ancient and modern subjects. Teachers, research scholars and students of undergraduate and postgraduate levels use the library round the year.

Recently, the book bank facility for SC/ST students has also been started from the 2019-20 session. Besides, there is a separate section for Visually impaired students.
