Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) was established in 2008 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The university was set up by the Government of Rajasthan Jaipur under Act No. 16 of 2008, passed in state Assembly of Rajasthan, giving it the status of 'State University'. Suresh Gyan Vihar University is a Self-Financed University established by Govt. of Rajasthan in the year 2008. Suresh Gyan Vihar University comprises of three campuses sprawled across an area of 130 acres at Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
The university offers several UG, PG, Integrated, Diploma and Doctoral level programmes emphasizing on the area of Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Business Management, Bio-Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Education.
Admissions to all UG and PG programmes at Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) will be made through a PC-based online test named GVSAT. Admission to the Ph.D and Distance courses is done through UET.

At the UG level, the university offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme with various specializations emphasizing on the area of Engineering and Technology to the candidates who want to make their career in the field of Engineering. The duration of the programme is four years. The institute also provides an Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech course under the similar specializations holding a duration of five years.

The university offers a number of doctoral level courses in various fields with multiple specializations to the students who wish to research in their concerned subjects.
In order to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme, a candidate need to secure at least 60% marks in Master’s degree level course.
For admission to the Ph.D courses, candidates need to sit for an Entrance Test called UET. A merit list will be prepared based on merit in the Entrance test as well as the academic records of the candidates.

- The candidate needs to fill the following fields: Full name, Contact Number and E-mail id. A system-generated email, mentioning the candidate’s unique student id (SID), 6-digit password and other important instructions will be sent instantly to the e-mail id provided by the candidate
- Having entered the aforementioned information, the candidate then has to select the program of his/her choice and click on the submit button to proceed to the next page to complete the remaining application process
- Candidates can pay the fee online using a Credit Card, Debit Card or through Net Banking
- The candidate can also pay the fee amount using a Bank Demand Draft drawn in favor of “Suresh Gyan Vihar University” payable at Jaipur. Alternatively, payment can also be made using a Challan (generate a copy of the challan form online) that can be deposited at any Axis Bank branch across the country. Suresh Gyan Vihar University has its own; high-quality modern hostels, with round-the-clock security, pleasant surroundings, and mess facilities. For proper physical development of the students, the University provides two well-equipped Gymnasiums where students work out to keep themselves fit. In addition to a conventional Gymnasium; a second Open-air Gymnasium has also been set up. A Physical Trainer is available round the clock, which creates a Dynamic Exercise Regime for lovers of Bodybuilding.

Suresh Gyan Vihar University is the house of one of the largest, most well – equipped & well – stacked libraries in Asia. Christened as “House of Wisdom” which matched International features such as a fully Automated Bar Coding System as well as other multimedia facilities. Besides a very Innovative Book Bank Facility; three Library Cards to Students and five library cards to faculties are issued to ensure there’s never a dearth of reference Books for scholars or teachers. For the Learners’ convenience; the Library is operational for 11 hours every day on weekdays and also opens on Sundays so that the Learners can reap maximum benefits out of Library facilities available. Another very unique feature of the Library is the Hi-Fidelity, Highly Advanced Audio – Visual Equipment to enable the users to experience the innumerable Audi Books in the Library’s vast collection. Auditorium
The auditorium is a central and imperative space in any organization, propitious enough to have one on campus, which is delightfully built with the seating capacity of 300 students, centrally air-conditioned, LCD Projector, magnificent green room facilities, WIFI enabled, enormous sound system, up-to-the-minute lighting system, to count a few. It is used for all types of the ceremonial congregation, lectures, award ceremonies, dramatic plays, musical programs, concert performances of an orchestra, band, chorus, jazz band, battles of the bands, dance competitions, and so on. These varied events place a range of demands on the room. For all events, it is essential that everyone in the room hear, clearly and enjoyable, everything that is presented. This is the goal of the auditorium named "Kalindi".
