Shree Monark Education trust (SMET), is a public charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (29 of 1950) at the Ahmedabad based office of the Public Charitable Trust Registration Office. The foundation of SMET is dedicated to national progress through educational institutions and diverse learning and knowledge dissemination, which has initiated various education activities with an aim to upgrade skills of manpower and meet industry needs, which in turn will contribute to the overall growth of the engineering and technology sectors.

SMET was established in the year 2000-2001 which is the outcome of the dream of the Founder President and Chairman, Shri Mohanbharathi R. Goswami, to fulfil his lone vision to establish an institute of world-class par excellence with a commitment to impart knowledge and educate students in education, basic sciences, commerce and administration as well as applied sciences, engineering, technology, paramedical and other allied areas of higher education and thus enhancing the scope for such education so far limited to a few institutes with few admission intake which deprived a many in the past from fulfilling their cherished desires for such education.

At present ten different educational institutions are operating under the canopy of SMET. The group has a composite strength of about more than 3850 students, more than 270 faculty members, and more than 70 non-teaching /technical staff members. The trust aims to impart value-based and high-quality education on modern lines.

To establish academic institutions that provide a healthy environment for both students and faculties, that infuse a spirit of team work and deliver excellence in all branches of learning employing state of the art technology.

To impart value based technical education and develop knowledge, skill,creativity and personality of budding engineers/ professionals, enabling them to meet challenges of the present multinational world and fulill demand of the industries.

GUJCET applicants will be selected only after they match the following criteria: 60% weightage will be applied to percentile scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of Class XII. 40% weightage will be applied to percentile scores in the GUJCET exam.

Hasmukh Goswami College offers merit-based scholarships to the students. Grant of meritorious scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and fulfillment of conditions for such award.

About Training And Placement Cell
The ultimate aim of the institute is not only just creating the engineers, but to eventually producing and delivering working professionals to the industry by imparting employable skill to the students. In order to achieve this objective, the institute imparts soft, managerial and technical skills to students. A placement team consisting of seven qualified professionals has been set up and is functioning under the guidance and direction of the top management and Director/Principal in the process of placement. The management of the institute has resolved and is committed to achieve 100% placement of the students. The Management has stepped forward to frame out long-term strategies to develop and strengthen Institute-Industries Relationship. The campus recruitment/placement process has already commenced. The Institute has also taken initiatives to organize a series of in-house training courses/ workshops/seminars/guest lecturers for imparting extra knowledge and providing exposure, practical knowledge a skill to the student community and faculties.

Career Development Center (Training, Placement & Skill Enhancement)
Career Development Center of the institute facilitates the process of placement of students graduating from the institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes for internship and training program of students as a part of curriculum. The process of placement is round the year activity thus providing excellent career opportunities.

Library
The institute has an automated user friendly library with large collection of resources that collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. The Library has over 3500 registered users which comprises of students, faculty members and non teaching staff. The Library provides assistance to its users ranging from location of a book to finding specific information required by a user. A suggestion book is maintained with in charge, Reader’s Services where the users of the Library can suggest measures for improvements in its facilities and services.

Sports
Understanding the importance of sports, the institute has developed a large sportsground and offers an arry of outdoor sports like Cricket, Volley ball, Foot ball etc. It has also indoor ground facility for sports like Carrom, Chess, Table-Tennis etc. We also inculcate team spirits & sportsmanship among students with providing extra coaching to encourage them to compete at state, national, international levels and leave a healthy & active life.

Cafeteria
The institute has centrally located cafeteria that caters to the taste of all students. The cafeteria is outsourced to run on a yearly basis to experienced caterers. The contractors are provided with modern infrastructure facilities at low cost in order to work out affordable price for the food items served. The cafeteria serves tea, coffee, cold drinks, ice-cream, snacks, lunch & different varieties of cuisines throughout the day in affordable rates. Management monitors and ensures that the food is cooked and served in hygienic conditions.
