HMS Institute of Technology is a private engineering college located in Tumkur, Karnataka. The Institute was established during 1997- 98 by the non-profit organization, H. M. S Education Society (Regd.) with the objective of providing Technical Education amongst the students and the dissemination of scientific knowledge in the Society.

 
H.M.S Education Society (R), Tumkur (Karnataka) has a long history of two decades in imparting Technical, Para Medical and General Education for the benefit of eligible candidates in India and abroad. Today H. M. S Education Society is a household name in the field of Education in Tumkur. It stands apart for its quality Education for the diversified courses it offers in the field of Technology, Para-Medicine etc. More than 3000 students from all parts of India and abroad are studying in its campus right from L.K.G to Graduation & Post Graduation courses.

 
HMSIT has a sprawling campus of 28 acres, with beautiful landscaping amidst modern facilities and infrastructure for the students and faculty.  All the Buildings are architecturally designed to suit the natural rolling terrain. The Institute is located on NH-4, Kesaramadu Post, Kyathsandra, Near Toll Gate, Tumkur, Karnataka, some 60 K.M from Bangalore towards Mumbai, where all kinds of Institutions like, MBBS, BDS, Engineering, BPT, DPT, Open Universities, MCA and MBA are situated.  Natural surroundings and meticulously maintained pollution free green campus leaves ever lasting memory in the minds of students

 
The Institute Provides Undergraduate courses in various branches of Engineering and post graduate program in Management.  The Courses offered include BE Degree in 5 disciplines and an MBA Degree.

HMSIT Facilities include Library, English Lab, Hostel (Boys & Girls), Health Centre, Seminar Hall, Transport, ATM, Campus Canteen, EDUSAT Online Interactive, Wi-Fi, Data Centre, Browsing Centre, Sports and Cultural.  It also has an active Anti-Ragging Committee and also offers Placement Assistance for Internships and Job placements.

 
The dedicated Placement Cell at HMS Institute of Technology provides training and guidance to the students for their Career Development. The College also has a Research and Development Center, which takes various projects and publications in collaboration with industry and academia.

From the beginning HMSIT has set as its goal, Quality Technical Education which endeavors to achieve high levels of academic excellence. It is planned in such a way that a student can get all facilities, guidance and help to reach his/her destination. The laboratories have been setup not only according to the university syllabus, but also with the state-of-the-art equipment. HMSIT can boast a quality team of Faculty. Discipline is the backbone of any system and the college is duty bound to produce hardcore professionals and only an effective system can give the desired result.

The HMS Institute of Technology was established by the H.M.S Education Society during the year 1997-98 with the aim to provide quality Technical Education. The college is affiliated to Visweswaraiah Technological University and approved by AICTE, New Delhi

HMS Institute of Technology offers B.E, MBA and M.Tech courses at the UG and PG level.

The institute invites application in online and offline mode.
For B.E, the candidates must have passed 10+2 in PCM with 50% marks.
Selection in B.E is based on the score in KCET , followed by personal interview.
Candidates seeking admission in MBA must have a Bachelor’s degree to be eligible, whereas a B.E degree is required to be eligible for admission in M.Tech.
Candidates in MBA are selected on the basis of their ranks in CAT/ CMAT/ PGCET score, while for M.Tech, the selection is based on GATE/ PGCET score.

Placements: Our college provides approximately 60% of placements in different companies. The highest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA in our course, students come to know about different types of skills such as entrepreneurship, data management, software building, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent because of its green environment and mountains side location. The hostel is good to live in, but the mess should need to improve a lot. Wi-Fi facility is not available in our college, but every sim network is good in and around our campus.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, but the course curriculum needs to improve. Semester exams are managed by Visvesvaraya technological University so it is a very good experience to appear in the VTU examination. The syllabus is get updated every 4 years and it enhances its study yearly.

The fees are 75,000 for engineering till yet as I have been studying there, I saw no hike in fees structure One from a middle-class family can easily complete engineering without any major financial burdens The scholarship we apply for is the national scholarship portal merit cum means For loan, kmdc arivu scheme is there, but the manir drawback of college lies in campus placements there has been no such good placements yet as I am still in my 3rd-year haven't been to placements yet
