Admission Procedure

The "Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing" (IIITDM) can refer to two government institutes in India: IIITDM Kancheepuram, established in 2007 near Chennai, and IIITDM Kurnool, established in 2014. Both were created by the Ministry of Education to focus on engineering education and research related to design and manufacturing. Admission is typically based on JEE for B.Tech and GATE for M.Tech, among other methods

B.Tech - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• Admission to B.Tech (CSE or ECE) is based on the entrance exam JEE Main, followed by counselling through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). 

• After seat allotment via JoSAA/CSAB, candidates must pay the institute fees (through SBI Collect) and complete document verification to confirm admission.

Eligibility

• Must have passed 10+2 / HSC (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 

• Along with Physics and Mathematics, the third compulsory subject can be Chemistry, Biotechnology or Computer Science (or equivalent) — depending on IITG’s criteria. 

• For general-category: ~ 50 % aggregate in 10+2 (or meet the criteria set for JEE eligibility) — though the primary selection lever is via JEE Main rank. 

• For reserved categories (SC/ST etc.), relaxations are as per rules (though the exact 10+2 percentage threshold may vary, as per JoSAA/CSAB + institute norms).

M.Tech - 2 Years Course

Admission Process

• Applicants apply to IIITG’s M.Tech programmes (CSE or ECE) via the institute’s admission portal. 

• Final admission depends on satisfying eligibility and — depending on specialization — valid exam scores (if required), followed by document verification.

• BE/B.Tech degree in CSE / IT / equivalent, OR

• M.Sc in relevant areas (CS / IT / related) / MCA / equivalent recognized qualification. 

• Minimum academic performance: CPI ≥ 6.0 (on 10-point scale) or 60% in qualifying degree. 

• For “online / non-regular” variant: working IT professionals with BE/B.Tech (any discipline) + 2 years’ programming/IT experience may be eligible.
