Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, commonly known as IIT Jammu, is located in Jammu city of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a public technical and research institute established in 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Delhi. The institute was founded by the Government of India with the goal of providing high quality education and research in science and technology and to contribute to national development.

The campus is situated in Jagti village near Nagrota on National Highway 44, approximately 17 kilometers from Jammu Airport and 19 kilometers from Jammu Tawi Railway Station. IIT Jammu is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Government of India and recognized as an Institute of National Importance.
