It was established in 2015 by the Ministry of Education Government of India and holds the status of an Institute of National Importance. Admission Procedure

IIT Tirupati admission is based on entrance exams for its various programs. Admission to the B.Tech program requires qualifying in JEE Advanced, followed by counselling through JoSAA. For M.Tech, admission is granted through the GATE exam, while M.Sc programs consider JAM scores. Admissions for MS (by Research) and PhD programs are based on an interview process.
