Admission Procedure

Admission to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly for the BVSc & AH program is based on merit in the NEET (UG) examination. Candidates must apply online through the IVRI portal during the application period, which for 2025-26 was July 23 to August 6, 2025. After the NEET exam and subsequent counseling by ICAR, a final selection is made based on merit and fulfillment of other eligibility criteria.

• Selected candidates must complete document verification and fee payment.
  

• Physical disability constraints: Candidates with disabilities exceeding 50% (in limbs, body, visual, hearing, progressive diseases) are ineligible.

Eligiblity

• Must be Indian nationals.

• Minimum age: 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.

• Qualifying exam: Higher Secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

  • Minimum marks required (General category): 50% aggregate.

  • SC/ST and other reserved categories: 47.5% aggregate.

  • Entrance test: Must have qualified in NEET (UG) for the same year.
    

Seats & Reservation:

• Total seats: 50–55 (varies by year)

  • Composition (as per 2023–24):

    • 85% via ICAR‑IVRI general quota

    • 15% via VCI (Veterinary Council of India) quota

    • Within these, seat types include Regular/Open, Payment, and NRI categories.

M.V.SC - 2 Years Course

Admission Process

• Appear for the AIEEA (PG) exam.

• Counseling and seat allocation follows based on merit.

• Sponsored candidates (in-service faculty/employees from related government agencies) may have reserved opportunities, requiring both sponsor backing and exam qualification.

Eligiblity

• Must hold a BVSc & AH degree (or equivalent).

• Need to qualify in the ICAR AIEEA (PG) exam conducted by ICAR through NTA

Scholarship

Benefits

M.V.Sc. Program: ₹7,560 per month for two years, plus a ₹6,000 annual contingent grant.

Ph.D. Program: ₹13,125 per month for three years, plus a ₹10,000 annual contingent grant.

Eligibility  Candidates must have secured admission to IVRI's M.V.Sc. or Ph.D.

 programs.Admission is typically through the IVRI entrance examination.
