Indra Ganesan College of Engineering is a leading and premier Engineering Institution. It was established in 2008 by Mr T Ganesan as its Chairman under the aegis of the Indra Ganesan Educational and Charitable Trust.The purpose to establish the College was to provide higher education to students, especially those from rural backgrounds.IGCE is located in a sprawling area of over 100 acres on IG Valley, Madurai Main Road, NH-45B Tiruchirappalli, Manikandam, Tamil Nadu.

The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai It was granted Autonomous status on 29th September 2024 by the University Grants Commission (UGC).It is accredited with B+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), New Delhi.

Indra Ganesan College of Engineering offers 6 B.E, 2 B.Tech and 2 M.E options in various disciplines. In addition, it also has an MBA Program option.The College has various Scholarshipscheme based on criterion decided by the College. IGCE also receives Grants from various Funding Agencies to assist needy Students.

The College provides Excellent and TopClass Infrastructure,covering Facilities which include well-structured Classrooms, Library, Language Lab, separate Men's and Women's Hostels, Health Center, Sports and Fitness options like Gym, Indoor and Outdoor Games, Canteen, Computer Resources, CCTV Cameras, 24x7 Security and Emergency Medical Services including Ambulance and a self-owned Fleet of Safe and Secured Transport.

IGCE has a very effective and dedicated Placement Cell for the benefit of Students. Since the inception of the College, it has maintained a very impressive Placement Record in the Corporate as well as Core Engineering Sector. The Training Methodology of the Placement Cell is spread over 4 Years covering domains like Personality Development, Skill Development, Specialization Development and Industry Oriented Development Programs.

Admission Procedure

Indra Ganesan College of Engineering admissions are merit-based. The institution evaluates the score of the candidates in the last qualifying exam for admission. Indra Ganesan College of Engineering offers 12 courses which includes B.E. / B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech, etc. Courses offered here are in affiliation with Anna University. Admission Process

At Indra Ganesan College of Engineering, students can pursue a 3 - 4 years UG degree in B.E. / B.Tech. The course is offered in 10 specialisations, namely Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering, etc. Admission to the programme is completely based on the merit scores achieved by the students in their last academics or accepted exam.

M.E / M.B.A - 2 Year Course

Admission Process

At Indra Ganesan College of Engineering, students can pursue a 2 years PG degree in M.E./M.Tech. The course is offered in 2 specialisations, namely Computer Science Engineering and VLSI Design, etc. Admission to the programme is completely based on the merit scores achieved by the students in their last academics or accepted exam.Indra Ganesan College of Engineering offers 2 years MBA/PGDM programme at the PG level. The selection for MBA/PGDM is based on a valid score in TANCET.

Led by a dedicated officer and 8 faculty members, the cell offers soft-skill training, English communication, mock interviews, group discussions, and aptitude test preparation. They also conduct webinars with industry experts (e.g., from DRDO, HCL, Accenture)  Students can start appearing for campus drives in their 7th semester.

The Central library area is 700 sq. m. Indra Ganesan College of Engineering Central Library Initially setup in 2008, the main aim of library is to provide right source to right user at right time. The collection of library includes Books, Journals, Magazines, and Newspapers, Project documents, Back volumes and CDs/DVDs in the field of Management, Science & Humanities, Engineering and Technology etc. IG is very vigilant towards the student health. The campus has a medical hospital around 24 x 7 with ambulance facilities. The hospital is equipped with latest and modern equipments required for the best patient care.This Naturopathy medical hospital was a teaching hospital of SIGIMS Naturopathy and Yogic Science. With the intention of translating the experience expertise in medical education in to tangible and affordable health care to the community, this hospital was established.

Sports & Games are given equal importance like studies. Students are encouraged to practice their interested games from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm on all working days and full day during their holidays. We are very proud to say that our college bags awards and medals from various events conducted by Anna University, Bharathidasan University, TN Teacher Education University, TN Dr.MGR University every year. Apart from University, our Intitution also conducts sports and games tournament every year. Medals, Certificates, Trophy are given during "Sports Day".The college has two canteens spread across the campus. These canteens cater for refreshment and eatables to the students, hostellers, faculty and the operating staff respectively. The cafeterias are very spacious in order to accommodate large number of students and also have comfortable sitting arrangement.To strengthen the campus safety and security, round the clock CCTV surveillance cameras are installed in various places of the Institutions. There are 100 cameras covering a large geographical area in 10 different buildings of the Campus.
