Overview

History :

Jai Hind College, Autonomous, Mumbai, was founded soon after the Indian independence, in 1948, by a group of erstwhile professors of D.J. Sind College, Karachi, and other eminent educationists under the registered name of ‘Sind Educationists’ Association’ primarily for the educational rehabilitation of the Sindhi community. Their goal was to contribute their expertise, knowledge, and skills in order to set up an educational institution par excellence.

Starting from a humble two-room college, catering to only the Arts stream, it soon progressed to include Science in 1949, followed by Commerce in 1980. Post 2000, the college introduced several “Self-financed” and “Vocational” courses to improve employability of students, like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Banking and Insurance (BBI), Bachelor of Financial Market (BFM) and, Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Travel & Tourism Management (B. Voc. TT) and Software Development (B. Voc. SD). Recently, Master of Science in Big Data Analytics and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) were introduced, both in collaboration with TCS as the Industry partner. At present, there are 13 UG programs, 5 PG programs, 1 Research program and 51 Certificate/Skill development/Value-added Courses that Jai Hind College offers. In 2018, the Union Ministry of HRD and the University of Mumbai conferred us with the Autonomous Status in view of our record of continued excellence in academic and all round growth of our students.

Today, in the 75th year of the establishment of Jai Hind College, we stand proud that we have successfully carried forward the legacy of the fore fathers of this institution without ever compromising on its value system.

Jai Hind College Mumbai has a Training and Placement Cell that is dedicated to providing placement assistance to final year students. The cell, which is composed of trained faculty members and student heads, conducts annual placement drives with the aim of securing the best opportunities for students. The college provides comprehensive support to students throughout the placement process, from application to final placement. To enhance students' skills, the Jai Hind College Mumbai placement cell conducts various training programs, including soft-skills training and personality development workshops. Industry experts guide students on group discussion, interview techniques, and CV writing.

Jai Hind College offers both placement and internship possibilities to its students through its placement cell. The cell is also in charge of the pupils' general development. It organises training sessions in which students are taught how to write CVs, face interviews, and much more in order to enhance their soft skills.

Over 90 organisations provide career possibilities each year, and over 35 firms come to provide internships to students. Finance analyst, risk analyst, business development, marketing executive, deal advisory, management trainee, and investor engagement officer were among the top positions provided to the students. Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, Cushman & Wakefield, Kotak Securities, Times Internet, and Hindustan Times are some of the recurring companies.
