About Us
Jashbhai Maganbhai Patel College of Commerce,(Known as J.M.Patel College) was founded in the Academic Year 1988-89 (Nearly 30 years) by the Sanskardham Kelavani Mandal (SKM) which was established in the year 1959 ( Nearly 60 years back), it’s permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai. All the institution under the Umbrella of SKM, is spread out in the Campus of 2.09 acre.

Beside being affiliated to the University of Mumbai, It has also been now, registered as Minority College from 03rd April 2019. It’s recognised under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. It’s Academic Audit was conducted by the University and has considered fit college, for Autonomy. It has been reaccredited with CGPA of 2.79 at Grade B by NAAC in the year January 2011. It will now again reapply for accreditation during the Academic year 2019-2020.

The College offers 3 year integrated courses in B.Com; B.A.F; B.M.S and B.Sc (IT). It has got good well-ventilated Classroom and other activities area and rooms with proper ambience for all round development of the students. It has proper functional IT Laboratory and last but not the least, a proper Qualified and competent faculty, with wide range of practical experience. Beside, I/C Principal, the Management has also appointed, Administrator to take care of the maintenance of Quality in Education System. All activities are carried out in proper spirit of Statutes and Ordinances of Mumbai University from time to time.

The Students can learn and imbibe various qualities, needed in interesting life by active participant in following manner: -

Admission Procedure

• Admission to the BMS course in Jashbhai Maganbhai Patel College of Commerce is strictly on a merit basis and according to the norms laid by the University of Mumbai.
• Details such as the application form fee, last date for registration, counseling process, submission of academic documents, etc. are mentioned on the Jashbhai Maganbhai Patel College of Commerce website.
• Students keen to take admission in the BMS should know that they have to complete the admission formalities stated on the website.Students need to submit two copies of the attested class 12^th marksheet, along with two latest photographs.
• Important documents such as class 10th and class 12th mark sheets are required at the time of the final admission process.

Eligibility Criteria

• Aspirants seeking admissions to the BMS course should have passed class 12^th or its equivalent examinations with not less than 45% aggregate marks.

Documents such as the Transfer certificate/ Migration certificate will have to be submitted at the time of admission.

Placement cell of the college, consisting of professionals & experienced senior professors having corporate exposures, has been established with a view to provide employment opportunities to those who wish to earn as well as learn and to the successful graduates.  Scholarship

1.   SCHOLARSHIP OR FREESHIP is granted to student/s by the Government of Maharashtra. The student has to apply ONLINE for SCHOLARSHIP OR FREESHIP.

2.   After applying ONLINE the student concerned has to submit the printout of the application form to the college office along with original caste certificate for verification.

3.   Log on to for SCHOLARSHIP OR FREESHIP application 
CAUTION: If you fail to apply for Scholarship or Freeship online, you will be liable to pay the  entire fees to the college. College does not take the responsibility of filing online application for Scholarship or Freeship on behalf of student/s.

4.   Eligibility for SCHOLARSHIP for students belonging to:

                     I.        Schedule Caste: Income up to Rs.200000/ per annum.

Infrastructure and Facilities

1) College Campus: - Campus is hygienic with continuous cleaning and maintenance facilities. Clean wash rooms, purified drinking water facility is available. IT equipment as well as all other infrastructural facilities are regularly maintained. First aid box and weighing machine are available. Doctor on call is available.

2) Classrooms: - Adequate number of classrooms are available with proper sitting arrangements. Majority of classrooms are provided with LCD Projectors and Internet facility.

3) Library: - Library is having with good print collection in all sections. Library is equipped with 6 computers with LAN and Internet facility. 3 computers are exclusively for student's use. Library also houses CD/DVDs, e-resources with print documents.

4) Staffroom: - Separate Staffrooms are available for Aided and Self Finance Faculty members with air condition facility.

5) Office: - Separate offices are available for Aided and Self Finance sections with air condition facility.

6) Seminar Room: - There are two seminar halls. One is up-to-date IT enabled for presentations and with AC facility.

7) Gymkhana: - College gymkhana has well maintained sports equipment. Space for games such as carrom, chess, etc. is available.

8) Play ground: - Institution has playground. Place for games such as Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho etc. is available.

9) Girls Common Room: - For girl students, college has separate well maintained room in the first floor of the main building.

10) NSS Room: - - A separate NSS Room is available for conducting college and community activities.

11) Computer Laboratory: - Up-to-date Computer Laboratory and language laboratory are started in the college. 56 Terminals with Core Duo with AV Facility. Smart board is also used in IT Laboratory. It also accommodates language laboratory for students.

12) Examination Room: - Separate Examination Room is available where examination related works are carried out.

13) Reprographic Facility: - College has reprographic facility with advanced reprography machine.

14) I/C Principal's Cabin: - College has separate I/C Principal's Cabin with air condition facility.

15) Administrative Office: - A separate cabin is available in the campus for College Management members.

16) Security System: - College campus, classrooms, exam room, classroom and other prominent places are under CCTV surveillance. College has deployed security guards 24*7.

Transport

The Institution provides transport facility from almost all parts of the city. One need not worry about commuting to the varsity.
