Jaya Institute of Technology, Kanchipadi, situated in Thiruvallur, Chennai is a self financing institution which was established in the year 2001 with the aim to impart quality education in the field of Technology and to bring out systematic transformation of the students into highly motivated graduates with professional competence.  The college has been working with professional competence under the aegis of Jaya Educational Trust, Thiruninravur, Chennai founded by Prof. A. Kanagaraj.

Ideally located in a sprawling campus of 26 hectares, Jaya Institute of Technology, Kanchipadi is well known for its undisturbed, unpolluted, calm and serene atmosphere.  The college is situated in Kanchipadi village, 20 km away from Thirvallur abutting the national highways to Tiruttani.  JIT is one of the foremost centres of professional education in the state of Tamil Nadu and is on the Thiruthani High Road, NH 205, Kanchipadi, Tamil Nadu.  It is well connected by both trains and buses from the city.  The nearest railway station to the college is Ponpadi railway station which is 27.3 Kms and takes approximately 30 minutes to reach college.  Students can also take a bus to Kanchipadi bus stand which is located at a distance of 450 mts and takes 2 minutes to reach the campus from the bus stand.

The College is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E), New Delhi.  

There are a number of courses being offered at JIT, Kanchipadi at Diploma and UG levels wherein there are 2 Diplomas - Dip in EEE and Dip in ECE, whereas B.E/B.Tech Degree courses - B.E (4 Disciplines), B.Tech (1 Discipline) are offered in various specializations like Food Technology, ME, ECE, EEE, and more.  Admissions to the programs are based on merit.
