Jeppiaar University, a private, co-educational institute was established in 2021 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a private university, named after its founder, late Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, also known as J. P. R.  He was an Indian Politician, Educationist, and Industrialist who was the Founder and Chairman of Jeppiaar Educational Trust (1987) as well as the Founder and Chancellor of the Sathyabama University.   He was also the president of the Consortium of Professional, Arts and Science Colleges of Tamil Nadu.  He is one of the pioneers in the privatization of engineering education in Tamil Nadu.  Currently, Jappiaar University is functioning under the capable leadership of his daughter, Founder & Chancellor Dr. Ms Regeena. J. Murli.

Jeppiaar University is located in campus is spread over an area of 45 acres in Jeppiaar Nagar on Old Mamallapuram Road (OMR), Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Semmenchery, Chennai, Tamil Nadu  The college is well-connected with all the major locations and is easily accessible. The Chennai International Airport is at a distance of 25 Kms and The Chennai railway station is at a distance of 28 Km from the college.

Jeppiaar University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The University offers 10 Degrees and 39 courses in Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate programs through its three schools, viz – (1)School of Arts, Humanities and Management, (2)School of Sciences and Allied Health Science and (3)School of Engineering and Technology  programs in various disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Arts and Science.  The various courses offered are BSc – 10 courses, BA – 4 courses, BE/BTech – 4 courses, BCom – 2 courses, MBA/PGDM - 1 course, BBA - 1 course and UG Dip - 2 courses.

Jeppiaar University Campus

The college is situated at Jeppiaar Nagar on Rajiv Gandhi salai, Chennai in an area of 48 acres. The college provides advanced teaching facilities and excellent placement. The college structure is represented through modern architecture, giving the precinct a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere.

The infrastructure also includes a state of art air-conditioned computer laboratory with servers and internet facilities. Work stations have welding and smithy equipment’s that provide hands on experience to our engineering students. Apart from this, each department has its own discipline-based laboratories for study and research.

The other facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, extensive libraries, seminar halls for UG and PG, reading hall, outdoor and indoor sports grounds, medical room and dining hall for Staff, Students and visitors. The college offers excellent transport facilities to all the students who commute from different parts of the city. The college mess provides homely, healthy, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to all.

The Jeppiaar University campus is vast and has all the facilities within its vicinity so that all the students are comfortable pursuing their education. Library:

The Jeppiaar University library is spread over an area of almost 60,000 sq. ft and comprises 1,04,397 volumes of books, 8,292 titles and 550 CDs. It also has 1,273+ e-resources, ASME journals, IELonline, and Springer Link. It also works with a reprographic segment for the students.

Cafeteria:

The Jeppiaar University cafeteria has a mess with a big dining hall, hygienic kitchen, ice cream parlour, and other facilities. These are provided to students and staff. The mess can easily accommodate nearly 2500 students at a time. For all the students who attend special classes in the evening after the regular classes, tea and snacks are available at the cafeteria.

Hostel:

The hostel at Jeppiaar University campus is furnished with a small-sized grocery store, recreation centre, intercom facility, indoor stadium, prayer hall, bakery, medical facility, ATM, banking services, internet availability, juice centre and many more. The hostel facility is available for both girls and boys separately with proper security systems.

Sports Complex:

The sports complex of the university allows students to play indoor as well as outdoor sports within the campus. The students also get to participate in various inter and intra-college competitions and they also win most of them. The sports complex has basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, volleyball court, throwball ground, kabaddi ground and others.

Transportation:

For the transportation of the day-scholar students and staff, the university has 29 buses employed through each corner of the city and nearby towns like Chengalpet, Pattabiram, Avadi, Ambattur, Poonamallee, Thirvettriyur and so on.
