Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (JMMCRI), commonly known as Jubilee Mission Medical College, is a private Christian minority medical institution located in the city of Thrissur, Kerala, India. It is a private, non-profit medical college and research institute run by the Jubilee Mission Hospital Trust under the Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur, with the motto “Service with Love.” The parent hospital was initially established in 1952, and the medical college began functioning in 2003 to offer professional medical education and patient care.

At the time of inception, the hospital functioned in one part of the old building of St. Mary's Thope Minor Seminary, Thrissur. His Eminence Cardinal N.T. Gilroy of Australia blessed the very first hospital building on 30th December 1952 in the presence of Cardinal V.Gracias, H.E. Martin Lucas, SVD, the then Apostolic Internuncio to India inaugurated the institution on 23rd April, 1953. In the same year, Cardinal Tisserant blessed the first operation theatre. It is 55 years since then that Jubilee Mission Hospital has been rendering health care to the sick, irrespective of cast or creed, rich or poor.

JMMCRI is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur, which governs medical education standards in the state. The college and its programs are recognized and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), ensuring compliance with the national benchmarks for medical training. The institute also undertakes accredited research through the Jubilee Centre for Medical Research, recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.

Admission Process

• The process of counseling for MBBS in Kerala is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination Kerala. NEET counseling is usually conducted online through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) in three stages, including a mop-up round.
  

Eligibility Criteria:

The student is required to clear or passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as mandatory subjects and must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in combined of all subjects (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates). If a candidate is filling all the criteria then they are qualified for NEET-UG.

Application Process

The application process for MBBS admission in Kerala is done online. Candidates have to go to the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) and have to fill up the application form. The fee for the application forms for General category candidates is Rs. 1000 and for SC/ST candidates, it is Rs. 500.

Facilities Offered @ Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur

Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital prioritizes compassionate care for all patients, evident through initiatives like our Rural Extension Centre in Nadathara and Mulayam villages, providing free treatment, investigations, and medicine. We extend our services to orphanages and old age homes in Trichur, offering them free of cost. Additionally, we conduct regular free eye camps, blood grouping camps, and welcome voluntary blood donors every Sunday to assist patients in need.

• Standards in techniques and quality control are meticulously maintained as laid down in the Drugs and Cosmetics Acts, by the regulatory authority, Director Drugs
• Controller (India), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and also internationally recommended methods.
  
• The department works round-the-clock and blood and its products are supplied as and when requested.
  
• Blood donation is accepted from voluntary blood donors and the relatives and friends of the patients.
  
• Autologous blood donation is also accepted.
  
• The blood donors are educated about the infections transmitted by the transfusion of blood and its products. Persons with high risk behavior for having infection like HIV are advised to exclude themselves from blood donation.
  
• 80% of collected blood is processed into components like red cells, platelets and fresh frozen plasma (FFP). The use of components is better and more effective.

The College has well-established transport facilities with its own fleet of buses to transport students and staff to various affiliated organizations, community fields, observation visits, etc. for practical training experiences as per the requirement.
