Jyothy Institute of Technology abbreviated as JIT, is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. JIT was established in the year 2011 under the leadership of Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee, Dharmika Pravara, Dr. B.N.V Subrahmanya, a visionary par excellence and philanthropist who built the institution in memory of his Late daughter Jyothy. Since inception JIT has grown to be one of the reputed technical institutions in the city of Bengaluru and Located in Thataguni, (12°50'38.21N 77°30'42.43E) off Kanakapura road (NH 948(Previously209)) , near Art of LivingInternational Centre. Jyothy institute of Technology is built on a 12 acre campus and has all the infrastructure expected of a modern engineering college. JIT is on the path of progress through addition of new infrastructure and adoption of ISO practices.

Admission Procedure:

The admission procedure will commence after an eligible candidate has applied for admission and his application has been received in the admission office within the due date. Admission to 1st year degree will be done under 3 quotas:

CET quota (Government seat allocation through Common Entrance Test)

COMED-K quota (COMED-K seat allocation through COMED-K Entrance Test)

Management quota (Direct admissions though Entrance test conducted at the college)

About Library

The JIT Library consists of a Central Library and 6 Departmental Libraries & 2 Hostel libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programs of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the library facilities on taking library membership. It is equipped in the area of 400 Sq feet. The library can accommodate 200 users at a time which is well ventilated and furnished.

The library has adopted Open Access System. Documents are classified as per International Classification System ‘Dewey Decimal Classification’. Library has good collection of books covering all the engineering subjects. Reference section covers with latest year books, Bibliographies, Dictionaries, Directories and Handbook. General knowledge books are also supported with other books which are helpful to prepare for the competitive exams/personal development activities. Students can borrow 6 nos of book at a time and return after 15 days if necessary the same book could be renewed for another 15 days. Apart from Books CDs, Journals, previous exam VTU Question papers could also be borrowed. Books from reference section could be browsed in library and if essential those books could be issued for overnight, one hour before closing of the library on all days.

Department Of Physical Education
Jyothy Sports department offers competitive, fitness and recreational activities serving those interested in benefiting from the wider educational value of sports and recreation.

JIT is recognized as much for its illustrious sporting tradition as it is for its excellence in education, learning and research. At our department you will find a wide range of activities. Some are designed to make you sweat, some to strengthen your muscles while others to help you relax and relieve stress. However, they all have one thing in common – they will all help you to keep fit and healthy. So whether you want to get active for leisure, do exercise as part of your routine, or like to get competitive in your favorite sport. We will have something for you.

Overview
In line we aim to provide student services that contribute to student success and achievement, the college is serious about providing best possible facilities to the students and faculty members as well.

JIT has a very rich tradition in sports and efforts are constantly on to better ourselves to achieve excellence in sports. A number of intra college events are conducted throughout the year and college teams are sent for all intercollegiate tournaments.
