K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering is a leading and premier Engineering College, also known popularly as KRCE. Dr K Ramakrishnan is its Founder Chairman and Dr S Kuppuswamy is the Executive Director. The College was established in the year 2008. The purpose for the College to be set up was for providing quality engineering education to the students hailing from varied socio – economic and cultural backgrounds. The Promoter having come from a rural background, he aspired to bring students from the darkness of ignorance to light and to inspire more lives through his vision and perspective.

KRCE is located on a sprawling 30 Acres Campus with a panaromic and pleasant view in the famous Temple Town of Shri SamayapuramMariamman Temple at Samayapuram-Kariyamanickam Road, Samayapuram, Tamilnadu. It is at a distance of 20 Kms from Tiruchirapalli Railway Station.

The College has its approval from All India Council for Technical Training (AICTE) New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College is accredited by NBA and has an A+ Grade accreditation by NAAC. The College also has an ISO Certification. The College was ranked 198 by Anna University in 2024 among Private / Govt Colleges in Tamilnadu. The NIRF ranked the College in the 201-300 range for the "Engineering" category in 2024 and also ranked the College's B.E Computer Science and Engineering program at 235 in 2024. The College was granted Autonomous status by Anna University in 2020-21 to be effective till the academic year of 2029-2030

The College offers a large range of courses. It has 4 B.E, 4 B.Tech, 4 M.E programs in different disciplines apart from an MBA option. There are also 3 options for Ph.D. The K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering (KRCE) in Samayapuram, Trichy, offers the Government Scholarship Scheme for BC, BCM/MBC, and DNC students.
