Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology (KIT) is a private autonomous institution established in 2008 by Vijayalakshmi Palanisamy Charitable Trust, striving to make a mark in the field of Engineering and Technology.   Thiru Pongalur N. Palanisami, the  college Chairman,  strongly believes that this initiative will create an academic foundation for social, cultural, scientific, economic and technological development in our nation which will mature into Global Interface.  He is competently assisted by the President, the Principal and governing members.  KIT is ranked among the Top 10 Engineering Colleges in Coimbatore.

Set in a calm and congenial locale, KIT is nestled in a spacious campus set in a vast area of 11.5 acres.  The Institute, one of the best Engineering Colleges in Coimbatore, is located near Manoj Nagar, Kannampalayam Post, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.  It is around 15 kms away from Coimbatore International Airport and 12 Kms from Coimbatore Railway Station.  Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome is just 8 kms away.

Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology has been approved by the AICTE - All India Council for Technical Education, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.  It is accredited by NBA and has also been accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC.

KIT, with its magnificent ambience, modern high-tech facilities and universal recognition, offers a range UG and PG Courses such as PG Diploma, B.E. / B.Tech, MBA/PGDM, MCA, M.E./M.Tech in the specialized fields of Business & Management Studies, Engineering and IT & Software.   Apart from regular MCA program, the institute also offers Lateral Entry in MCA.  A student can pursue any of the 23 courses as Degree and Diploma in Full Time mode.   Admission to B.E programs is usually through TNEA and M.Tech selection process will be as per TANCET score followed by TANCA Counselling.  Further, admission to MBA and MCA will also be granted as per TANCET score.  The Institute offers its students professional expertise through its trained & experienced faculty in studies of Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Agriculture & Farm Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Power Engineering, VLSI Design. Overall, the courses are available for an intake of 810 from the most aspiring students for higher learning.

Admission Procedure

KIT Coimbatore offers various educational programs such as UG and PG courses. It has over 15 academic departments with under 4 major programs across 3 streams. This institute offers B.Tech/B.E., MBA, MCA, and M.E. For B.Tech, the annual fee is INR 2 Lakh (Total Fees). For BE, the annual fee is INR 2 Lakh (Total Fees). The admissions are done based on the counselling and the entrance test, or any application that is available online on the website.

• Based on the cut off marks obtained in the higher secondary (10+2) examination.

With its spacious reading halls and modern infrastructure, the library provides the right ambience for reading and research for the learners.The college has a world class infrastructure, spacious, state of the art, elegant and fully centralized air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity for 2500.The auditorium is facilitated with excellent acoustics and modern audiovisual facilities bringing functional sophistication to the events. The effective sound system lends a hand to grasp the valuable ideas of the speakers.

High quality food and refreshments prepared by professional workers are served. The menu formulated caters to the taste of both vegetarian & non-vegetarians and is periodically revised to include variety dishes. On the whole, a balanced diet is provided to students and staff members.National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme (NSS), Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Youth Red Cross (YRC), at KIT aim at developing student’s personality through community service.
