Kalpataru Institute of Technology Tiptur was established in the year 1986 under the aegis of Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe with a view to providing quality Technical Education, particularly to the rural youth and to serve the rural people by providing technological support.  KIT is one of the reputed Private Institutes of Karnataka in the field of education which takes pride in having celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2011-12.  The Institute is known for its good academic achievements in the past 38 years.

 
The 11-acre sprawling Kalpataru Institute of Technology Campus is located on the N.H 206,Tiptur, Tumkur District, Karnataka.  It is situated on the outskirts of the town at a distance of 2 Kms from Railway station and Bus Stand.  KIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute has also been accredited with NBA (National Board of Accreditation).

 
There are various courses being offered at KIT Tiptur in Full time mode at the UG, PG and Doctoral levels in the streams of Engineering, Technology and Management.  The courses offered include B.E. (in 6 streams - CSE, AI&ML, ISE, ECE, Civil & Mech) and MBA Degree program.  Admissions to these courses are on the basis of KCET COMEDK UGET/KCET (for UG courses) and KMAT /Karnataka (for MBA course).  The Institute also offers Ph.D in 4 areas of Science and Engineering.

Admission Procedure

Admission Criteria

BE Admission 

• Kalpataru Institute of Technology offers the B.E. course at the UG level in 5 specializations, with a total intake of 480 students.
  
• Candidates who have passed 10+2 with 45% marks, having taken up Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Biology / Chemistry / Electronics / Computer Science as an optional subject are eligible to apply for the B.E. course. Candidates who have completed their Diploma in engineering are eligible to apply for the second year of the B.E. course through lateral entry.
  
• Selection to the first year of the B.E. course will be done on the basis of valid score in KCET , followed by the counselling process, which will be conducted by the KEA. Lateral entry seats will be allotted on the basis of KEA DCET scores through the counselling process conducted by DTE, Karnataka.

M.Tech Admission 

• Kalpataru Institute of Technology offers the M.Tech course at the postgraduate level, under 3 specializations, with a total intake of 54 students, with 18 students per specialization.
  
• Candidates will be considered as eligible for the M.Tech course if they have passed B.E. / B.Tech degree with 50% marks in a relevant discipline to which they have applied to.
  
• M.Tech seats will be allotted on the basis scores obtained in Karnataka PGCET, through the counselling process conducted by the KEA.

MBA Admission 

• Kalpataru Institute of Technology offers the MBA course at the postgraduate level, with an intake of 60 students.
  
• Candidates can apply to the MBA course if they are holders of any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration, with 50% marks.
  
• MBA seats at KIT will be allotted on the basis of scores obtained in the CMAT.
  

Scholarship

The fees are actually too high for this college but it is the fixed govt fees for my course. We have applied for the scholarship months ago but still, haven't received any amount yet. It is the ssp scholarship.Students can avail various government scholarships such as SC/ST, OBC, and merit-based schemes. Financial assistance is also provided to deserving and economically weaker students.

Placement 

The placement cell actively trains students through aptitude sessions, soft skills programs, and mock interviews. Many reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, and Wipro visit the campus. The college maintains a good placement rate, with opportunities across IT and core sectors.

• Overseeing the placement process to its end; training, organizing and coordinating Campus Placement Programs which is the responsibility of the Training and Placement Cell. The Cell endeavors to carry out successfully all the processes methodically throughout the year.

Large playing fields support a wide variety of games, such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey and Kho-Kho. There are also spaces dedicated for Indoor sport, including Table Tennis, Badminton, Weight Lifting, Power Lifting, Chess, and Caroms. Judo and Karate camps are regularly held. Our Outdoor facilities include a 200-metre athletic track and courts for Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, and Throw Ball. Tennis coaching camps in association with reputed professional bodies are also on offer.

The Library is housed in Administrative block occupies an area about 1500 square meters. The Library department comprises four sections Viz., Issue section, Reference section, Digital Library and Reading Hall. The reference section and reading hall can accommodate about 250 students at a time for studies. Our library has always been the brain of the engineering college which houses valuable information for reference and caters to the educational needs of users. The aim is to motivate and support the process of self learning. Our Library is extremely proud of itself on having more than 68,042 volumes of which about 13500 titles cover all disciplines in Science and Technology.

2. Determination of phase and line quantities in three phase Star and Delta connected loads.
3. Study of effect of Open and Short circuit in simple circuits.
4. Measurement of Earth Resistance.

Hostel

The institute provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with clean rooms, security, and essential amenities. The hostels offer a comfortable living environment along with mess facilities serving hygienic food.
