Karavali Institute of Technology, a constituent of the Karavali Group of Colleges was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of the GR Education Trust in Karnataka.  Karavali Group of Colleges is sponsored and managed by G. R. Education Trust (R.), a premier educational institution situated in picturesque region at Mangalore. Since its inception in 1996, the activities of the Trust have been spearheaded by its Founder Chairman, Mr. Ganesh S. Rao, a young entrepreneur, educationist and a well known personality.  KIT continues to uphold Academic Excellence building upon the success of Karavali Group of Colleges.

 
Karavali Institute of Technology campus is located in a sprawling area of 52 acres of land in Fermai Road, Near Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Neermarga, Mangaluru, Karnataka. The campus is well connected by road and is easily accessible from all parts of the city by public transport.

 
The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE) New Delhi and is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

 
The Karavali Institute of Technology which is poised to grow into a premier engineering college at present offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and management which include B.E. degree courses in six streams, M.Tech degree in 4 disciplines and Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.  Students must meet the eligibility criteria set by the authorities to apply for KIT Mangalore admissions. For admission to the B.E program, candidates have to appear for KCET or COMEDK UGET. For the M.Tech program, candidates have to appear for Karnataka PGCET or GATE exam. The admission to M.B.A program is given through scores obtained in entrance exams such as CAT/KMAT/MAT.

KIT has also entered into (MoUs) Memorandum of Understanding with connected Industries and Institutions. It organizes Karavali Placement Mela, an annual event, which has witnessed the presence of more than 180 reputed companies resulting in placement of over 8000 job seekers. Apart from this type of Job fairs the Placement Cell also conducts regular Campus Placements for its students in which Top Recruiting National and International companies like Apollo Hospitals, ING Vysya Bank, KARVY, Paypee Group, LeeCooper, Infosys, Wipro, Subex, HCL, Amps, L&T, Sathyam, Mahindra, Reliance, Future group, Landmark Group, Axis Bank, IDBI, ICICI and many more have taken part.

As compared to other college fees is not too high, and reasonable fees is been taken by the college. Students are been provided scholarships. NSP, SSP, and some more scholarships are been provided to students.

• Campus

Karavali Group of Colleges has excellent infrastructure spread over four independent campuses in Mangalore and Bangalore. The main campus is situated along N.H.66, near Kottara Chowki in Mangalore City. The second campus housing the Karavali College of Pharmacy is located along N.H. 169 in the picturesque Vamanjoor area in the city. The campus of Karavali Institute of Technology is located at Padu Neermarga and Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College at Yelahanka, Bangalore. All campuses area easily accessible from all parts of the city by public transport. The college also has its own transportation fleet to transport students and staff. In addition, all campuses have BankATM, Canteen facilities.

• Library

The college has well-stocked libraries with a large number of books on subjects related to the courses taught, in addition to literary volumes, ready reference encyclopedias etc. The college subscribes to all important newspapers, magazines, national and international books and journals. A tennis court, basket ball and volley ball court exists in the campus, apart from a host of other facilities for indoor and outdoor games. A fleet of buses and vans are available to all the students commuting between colleges and the campus. Transport facility is provided to transport students to camps organized outside the campus.
