Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering And Technology, Chennai also known as KVCET is a private co-educational college established in 2001 under the aegis of Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust led by its Founder Thiru. S. Regupathy, Honorable Minister of Law, Government of Tamil Nadu.  The Trust founded the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Group with the objective of rendering quality education and to groom efficient citizens for the future, thereby contributing to the nation-building process.  Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Group (KVEG) (1993) caters to various disciplines of education like Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences.

 Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Techology, with a with a sprawling campus spread over 65 acres of land is located in the outskirts of Chennai city on GST Road, Chinna Kolambakkam, Palayanoor (PO), Madhuranthagam, Chengleput (Dt), Tamil Nadu.  The KVEG campus is away from the hustle and bustle of the city but in close proximity to the scene of industrial activity. 

KVCET is Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is affiliated to Anna University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).   It has been Accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with “B+” grade.

Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering & Technology offers Engineering, Management and Computer Applications courses at UG and PG levels. The courses offered are BE, B. Tech, ME, M. Tech, MBA and MCA.  BE is offered in various streams of Biomedical, Automobile, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Robotics & Automation, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Mechanical, etc. M. Tech is offered in Biometrics & Cyber Security, Big Data Analytics, Biotechnology and Manufacturing engineering.  The Admissions KVCET is based on merit and entrance exam scores.  For B. Tech and MCA, candidates will be required to meet the merit whereas admission in M. Tech is based upon TANCET, CET or GATE score. Admission in MBA is based on MAT, TANCET or CET score.

Admission Procedure

Students should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of (10 +2) Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study under Part-III or any examination of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University of Technology Chennai as equivalent thereto.

Admission Process

• Government Quota: 65% of seats are filled through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
  
• Management Quota: 35% of seats are filled through the Consortium of Self Financing Engineering Colleges. Candidates must appear for the Consortium Eligibility Test (CET).

Eligibility

• Pass in 10+2 (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• Candidates from vocational groups in Engineering/Technology are also eligible.

M.E / M.B.A / M.C.A - 2 Year Course

Admission Process

• Admissions are based on entrance exam scores followed by counseling.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of Engineering/Technology. (For B.E)
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.(For MBA)

Scholarship

Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology offers an all-round career solution to the students. Placement and Training Cell guides the students to decide and pursue their dream careers in different sectors be it engineering, IT, Analytics, Consulting , research and development, Operations etc. The whole placement process is organized and executed by Placement and Training Cell . The campus interviews are held under the supervision and jurisdiction of this Cell and relevant feedback is obtained from the industry. Placement and Training Cell works hard to arrange full semester industrial internship , which is stipulated under the academic curriculum . The Placement and Training Cell also arranges career talks for dissemination of knowledge regarding the employment opportunities in the industry related to the relevant fields and interest of the students. Placement Cell keeps record of the students who undergo internships and the companies which come for recruitment. In addition Finishing School / Soft Skills Development Workshops are also organized to improve the communication skills of students.Centre encourages visits to the industries by the institute students and arranges industrial problems to be worked out by students as part of their projects. It also takes suggestions from members of the Industry regarding designing / changing of curriculum.

KVCET campus also houses the KIMS (Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences) Hospital operational 24×7 with facilities to manage all sorts of emergencies.
