Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, is a private co-educational college established in 2009 under the aegis of Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust led by its Founder Thiru. S. Regupathy, Honorable Minister of Law, Government of Tamil Nadu.  The Trust founded the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Group with the objective of rendering quality education and to groom efficient citizens for the future, thereby contributing to the nation-building process.  Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Group (KVEG) started in 1993 with the aim contributing to the country’s educational development process caters to various disciplines of education like Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences.

KIMS & RC, Maduranthagam, is situated in a beautiful landscape spread over an area of 30.76 acres of land on NH-45 (GST Road), Chinna Kolambakkam, Palayanoor PO, Madurantagam Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Tamilnadu. 

KIMS is recognized by Medical Council of India (NMC) and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.  It has been approved by NAAC with Grading B++.  Moreover the Institute is recognized by MCI for MBBS and 9 PG Courses.

With an annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS and 38 seats in 17 disciplines of Postgraduate studies, KIMS&RC is bestowed with the Best Institute award by DICE to recognize the institute’s role in providing quality health care and medical education in March 2018. In 2015, Institute got Best Enterpreuners Award for outstanding contribution in Medical Education from TOI.  The Qualifying examination for admission to M.B.B.S. degree course is through National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). 

Apart from MBBS, the Institute also offers MD and MS programs for which the eligibility is National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET PG) conducted by NBE with a an MBBS from a recognized Medical Institution. 

BSc Allied Health Services Degree courses are also offered in the fields of Radiology and Imaging Technology (RIT), Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology.  The Entry qualification for the BSc courses isAdmission any examination equivalent to H.S.C. / (10+2) examination, of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study with 50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved category.

A Student count total of 600 seats are allotted every year who are catered to by 171 strong faculty members.

There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital. There is a high footfall of OPD's and In-Patients every day.
