Admission Procedure

KGMU Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 116 courses offered at KGMU. The courses are offered disciplines like Medical, Paramedical, Dental. KGMU courses includes MBBS, B.Sc (Nursing), Diploma, BDS, M.D, MDS, M.S, M.Ch, DM. Popular courses at KGMU are MBBS, B.Sc (Nursing), Diploma.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission

KGMU Lucknow invites applications for its 5.5-year MBBS program (including a 1-year internship), admitting approximately 250 students annually. Admission is exclusively through NEET-UG, followed by state and all-India (MCC) counselling rounds.

BDS Admission

KGMU BDS program offers 6 Specialisations, such as Pedodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Prosthodontics, etc. Admission to the BDS program is through the NEET Exam. The total fee for the BDS program is around INR 1.2 lakhs.

MDS Admission 

KGMU's MDS program offers 10 Specialisations, including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, and Oral Medicine and Radiology, among others. Admission to the MDS program is through the NEET MDS Exam. The total fee for the MDS program is around INR 2.32 lakhs.

MD/MS Admission

KGMU Lucknow offers MD and MS programs in various specialties, each with a duration of 3 years. Admission is based on NEET-PG 2025. Candidates must have completed an MBBS degree with a 1-year compulsory internship by March 31, 2025. Seat allotment is done through national and state-level counseling bodies: MCC for All India Quota (50%) and UPDGME for State Quota (50%).

DM and M.Ch Admission

KGMU Lucknow offers 3-year DM and M.Ch. super specialty programs in various disciplines. Admission is based on NEET-SS 2025. Candidates must have completed an MD/MS or equivalent DNB in the relevant specialty.

Scholarship

KGMU offers various scholarships and financial aid schemes: merit-based awards, financial assistance for needy students, state/central scholarships for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories. The university supports students in accessing external schemes and internally awarded support.
